One Of These Days...

Featured Replies

One of these days, I'm going to make a dedicated smallmouth bass trip. With some of the smallmouth bass posted by A-Jay, J Francho, and others here, it's got me ready to go tangle with some bronzebacks. Maybe up north, somewhere that has some good smallmouth fishing, and some nice scenery also. It never hurts to daydream a little. What about others here? Do you have any " one of these days " ideas?

A Canadian trip to someplace with a nice lodge, boats and guides. One week away from everything including cell phones and TV.  Eat, sleep, fish, repeat.

If you make it to Knoxville I can drive the rest of the way! I'll even allow gator hats once we get north of the border.......

The International Bass Fishing forum, more specifically the Lake Baccarac thread, is something I daydream about at times.

One of these days,

We're going to get a PCA who can work more than an hour or two at a time so that I can take the canoe out again.

Not just them but after watching Taku Ito, I'm like I want some of that!

One of these days I'll go somewhere where there are not smallmouth.

At least 3 if you count mothers in law……..

Nope - don't count her...she knows better.

Mom gave up on me years ago...

So all I got is the wife

I was thinking you had a couple cuddle-bunnies on the side. ;)

(ya...I went there...)

Reminds me of pinky from the Friday movies “I got a girlfriend and a wife on the side”

In relation to bass fishing specifically or fishing in general?

I always wanted to fish Reelfoot , then one year I did it . Its probably my least favorite lake I ever fished . I couldnt catch bass,  ended up fishing for bluegill , it was that bad .

My first mother in law was a saint but she had a bat crap crazy daughter.

My current (or soon to be I should say) mother in law is the devil but her daughter is a saint.

Duck hunting and crappie fishing is all I’ve ever heard about on Reelfoot.

I've fished in North Carolina, Texas and Florida, and I have Erie just a short drive North.  I've been on the Atlantic twice.  I try to incorporate a guide trip into my vacations when possible.  Thus far, Florida has been my favorite and I hope to go back annually or every other year.

As far as new destinations, I think Michigan/Wisconsin/Minnesota would be fun to explore, and a great learning opportunity. Giant bass in Mexico is also on the bucket list.

I want to go spend a weekend at a resort/hotel on one of the few lakes with tiger muskie in my state and try and catch one. I know they are the fish of 10,000 casts but I can dream.....

...I'm going make it to Toledo Bend

Two chicks back the girl was crazy and the parents d#$%&. Next girl the parents were good but the chick was ..a little...you know. This one now her mom and rest of the family are cool and she is great. I improved every time at least.

Lake Fork and wherever A jay fishes for his monster smallies...

Without out a doubt a guided trip on lake Baccarac! Once I finish college and get settled into my career the opportunity will hopefully open up and I'll head on out there.

When I was younger I went on about 10 Caribbean cruises. I’ve been to the Bahamas a couple of times and want to spend a couple of weeks there. One of the things on my bucket list is fly fishing the flats there.

As far as fishing goes there are 2 left on my bucket list…
Learn how to fly fish and catch a smallmouth.

One of these days I'll bag several other black bass species and a brook trout.

I haven't fished from a boat more than 8 times in my life ...... and that includes the time when I was 8 years old. I daydream about a Hobie pro angler. But I'd need a trailer and a new tow vehicle, which I can't afford nowadays.

But like you said, @Mobasser ...... I can daydream.          jj
