  1. Waterfall in Adirondack Mountains of New York
  2. Sold all my Nikon and Leica film cameras after I left the pro ranks and I went digital, but still have a couple of "wall hangers," a Rolleicord twin lens reflex and a Bakelite (early form of plastic) bodied Zeiss Ikon my dad liberated from a stash in Germany during WWII.
  3. A "false fall" photo from my files, using Ektachrome color infrared film. All you oldster photographers remember Ektachrome and Kodachrome don't you ??
  4. Looks like my boat on a typical outing...probably the reason I could never be a co-angler. Decisions, decisions, decisions...oh the horror!! ??
  5. I fish shallow nearly all the time and use FFS nearly all the time. I have seen bass in the midst of sunken limbs and vegetation in less than 2 ft. of water, cast a wacky Senko and caught the bass. No matter where I'm finishing I use FFS to eliminate unproductive (no baitfish or fish activity) water. [Edited to add:] Humminbird's Live Image allows you to rotate the transducer to horizontal (landscape mode), which I use when shallow because it considerably widens the field of view.
  6. My condolences on your loss...it never gets easier. If you're a dog person you are fated to face that loss again and again. I am too and I have. I'd be comforted by the fact that your pal died after doing what he loved...it's a kinder fate, a better departure, than a slow cruel decline. I would hope the same fate for myself.
  7. Guinness, a quality red wine, a super-dry martini with Bombay Sapphire gin and any quality bourbon, neat or with ice, pretty well covers it for me. I guess now that I've reached 70 I qualify as old (enough). ??
  8. You've still got a ways to go...the fist fight thread is already at 53 responses ?
  9. I use a Falcon Lowrider Weight Worm (LFC-67MH) coupled with a Shimano Curado 70 MGL and am extremely happy with it ??
  10. I don't think you'll be missing much, if any, by going with HB. Fish show up well and that'll all you need IMO.
  11. I wouldn't cut the shaft. It's held in the bracket with just two allen screws so it would be easy to raise up in my opinion. I fish at lot of skinny water and don't raise it. Then again maybe I should: I've broken one shaft and smashed the transducer on cypress stumps: $325 each time and HB has you back in business within a week.? My buddy has the Garmin version and the screen shots he sends me don't look any different from my graph. I'm perfectly happy with the HB now that I have a little time with it. I have all three of my graphs tied together with a HB ethernet switch.
  12. My two cents? I have both Mega 360 and, now, Mega Live. Two different animals, one can't replace the other. Mega 360 shows structure from a top down orientation, very detailed and sometimes you can spot fish, but limited for fish because of it's rotating scan. Depending upon orientation you can see trees, brush, etc. with Mega Live, but more importantly, see the fish relating to the tree, brush, etc., in real time. Now that I know how to use it, I constantly look at Mega Live on my top screen, while occasionally referring to 360 which is running on my second screen. If I could only have one it would be Mega Live. Do you have a HB trolling motor and graphs? If so, get the HB products for compatibility and don't look back.
  13. I see scaleface is a fellow bone collector. Here's a collection I found during bird hunting during one month in Montana in 2021 including a cow, pronghorn, mule and whitetail deer, and what is in all probability a badger or like mammal. My back porch looks like a bone yard at this point, although I prefer a "natural history sculpture museum". PS: deer sheds make great dog chew toys ??
  14. Kittery Trading Post
  15. I see my problem. Buying via the Pure Fishing store the code is valid, but not the Berkley store directly. ??
  16. Not valid anymore: just tried ? Will have to settle for free shipping ?
  17. Heck of a deal...I ordered three Stunnas and a Spy Bait. ?
  18. From an ex-pro photographer, EXCELLENT shot A-Jay. Love it ??
  19. Great friends ya got there...lucky man ??
  20. I believe that life is a participatory—not a spectator—sport. Rather do something myself than watch someone else do something. ?
  21. Ain't that the truth...and the video will be 18 minutes long as Matt and Tim discuss the best ways to walk with it and what you should wear to get the most out of your public display ?
  22. Have sort of a prejudice against the Strike King Red Eye Shad because I have a couple that swelled and distorted due to heat. Have caught fish on the Rat-L-Trap but admit lately I've been experimented with Yo-Zuri Rattlin' Vibe and 6th Sense versions due to my unrelenting crankbait addition ?
  23. Every good dog needs a home...you're both doing righteous work there A-Jay. ?? BTW, envie that high fence...it would save me a lot of time searching and calling "Max! COME!!" whenever he decides the height of our fenced yard is no impediment to adventure ?
  24. Yup. Lots of info in TB videos but, dang, that's usually one heck of a time commitment. The juice has gotta be worth the squeeze. ?
