  1. That sucks. I've been going to the same gal for almost 15 years...I would be bummed if she stopped.
  2. Guys that close the bail with the reel handle are the same types that ask for the crust to be cut off a sandwich after they already ate it.
  3. I'm also gonna say dropshot..I just don't get it. Only thing I've done is lose weights. Throw Ned in same area and get bites.
  4. I was leaning towards a popper but your speaking my language. I'm a buzzbait guy.
  5. Sometimes my friend that's all you can do.
  6. Agree with @jbsoonerfan...it all depends on what you wanna do with it. I would look for a different rod at or around the same price. For bass fishing you'd be better off with a Berkley lightning rod for $40 or even better a Daiwa aird for $55. My actual suggestion would be to not blow all your money on one reel...depending on what DC reel your looking at you may be able to get one or maybe even two whole combos for the same price.
  7. Pretty straightforward... When the fish are starting to think about doin tha deed what top water you picking up?
  8. Close by hand to prevent line twist. Never heard or cared about wearing anything out the other way.
  9. Just looked at those today online...look like a great swim jig trailer rigged vertically
  10. That's a monster worth creating. I wish I could figure a way to get my lady into fishing...she's my best friend so id love for her to be my fishing buddy.
  11. I made very little money for a long time...then about 7.5years ago I got a much better paying job. I went from one tackle box and a few rods to 25 tackle trays...an entire 3 level storage bin of plastics...and 20 plus bass rods and reels. I still fish alot...maybe not as much as back then..but alot. I enjoy the tackle side almost as much. Collecting...tinkering...customizing.
  12. True that. Yeah lose of taste sucks...but...not worse than never breathing again. Btw an update...we are on day 5 of quarantine...probably about day 7 or 8 of illness we just didn't recognize it right away. So far we are doing well and only have allergy sinus symptoms. No fever or breathing problems...yet anyway...thank god. Worst thing we are dealing with is fatigue like I've never felt before.
  13. I love zoom...probably my favorite soft bait company. They make almost everything..and for the amount you get the prices are more than reasonable. Another bargain are Mr twister phenom worms...20 curl tail worms for $3.
  14. I've caught bigger...just sayin!
  15. Everybody has already covered Ned rigs and chatterbaits. Besides that you can still use a spinnerbait, Texas rig worm or jig and craw and catch plenty of fish.
  16. I use BOSS finesse flip or Siebert sniper for almost all my flipping. In cold water especially around chunk rock I use a ball head finesse jig. Then I have my swim jigs. That's about it anymore.
  17. To me its mostly green pumpkin with a few orange, blue and chartreuse strands.
  18. Yep the more I ask about it the more this seems to be the consensus. My girlfriend told me a story about a guy who has family that either works or goes to the daycare she works at. He was like 35 and died after having it a few days. My buddies parents are in there 70s and survived with no complications in like a week.
  19. If its up the line a ways I'd agree its a guide nicking issue. If its right at the lure then its a knot issue. I use an improved clinch for everything and almost never had a failure. I use an IC for frog fishing with 50lb braid which is a violent high impact style of fishing and can't remember a knot pulling out.
  20. Not sure if be to excited...isn't Denver kinda windy? I'm pretty sure a stiff breeze can break his collar bone.
  21. Green pumpkin with black flake for a flipping jig Bluegill for a swim jig
  22. My old lady is good about it in fact I'd say she doesn't give a crap. She has her expensive zyia pants and coffee...I have fishing stuff. Side note I thought this post said the woes of a bass fisherman and his fiances. Was gonna say well there's the problem...why would you want more than one.
  23. Thanks to everybody for the well wishes..I will keep you guys posted as this thing progresses.
