My wardrobe is pretty much jeans, Tshirt-alot of them from tackle warehouse or Cabelas, flannel or hoodie or button up fishing shirt if needed plus almost always a hat and polarized sunglasses. Either a folder clipped inside my front pocket or a fixed blade clipped on my belt. So yes I do indeed dress like a fisherman.

Ill echo this sentiment. Is my woman expensive? Yes. Does she enrich my life enough to make it worth it? Hell yes.

That is a pretty fish! I caught the northwest Iowa equivalent tonight... Some creek chubs! Hopefully they will get me a few channel catfish tomorrow. Also managed 6 crappies this morning, but they were all dinks.

Well I'm not much of a beer drinker now days but its unseasonably hot here...got into the 90s today...and my sister in law brought over a 12er of Banquet beer so I had a few of those. Believe ill finish out the night with a glass of WT 101 over 1 large ice cube.

The past probably 6 or 7 years I've been wearing Timberland Pro Boondock steel toes. They are the most comfortable boot I've ever worn, they are comfortable on the feet right away for me almost no break in period. Working in an Ethanol biorefinery is hard on boots as they are exposed to lots of different liquids in different temp and PH ranges. A pair typically lasts me anywhere between 8-12 months. The company pays for 1 pair a year but if I've gotta shell out $200 of my own money to buy a 2nd pair to have my back and feet not hurt that's money well spent.

Ended up going with a 7ft medhvy ugly stik tiger, an Abu Garcia 7000 and 40lb big game.

Well ill be 42 at the end of the month so while im not old in the traditional sense I do have a bad back and I'm easily irritated so I suppose I qualify.

So I tried the typical.cleaning tablet and there was still some musty moldy funk smell...tried the vinegar baking soda combo, seems to have worked like a charm.

I committed to running the smoker all day because it was supposed to be windy. Of course its been like 68 and 5mph wind since like 11am. Oh well I did get a bunch of pulled pork out of it. Ill go tomorrow and Monday.

I've seen what kind of shape your in which means you have great mental strength so you can get er down! Besides think of how flushed out and clean you'll be.

Do you guys put them in at the same time or run separate cycles?

What's your preferred method? I've always used those little afresh tablets, wondering if there's a better way.

Windy and overcast with a few sprinkles yesterday, got out for about 5 hours between the river and local pit. Caught 2 gar 2 small drum and a carp in the river. Switched over to the pit caught a dink largemouth and one about 15-16in right off the bat. Then I started floating a bobber with a full crawler and got a 10lb drum, thing was a beast. A few minutes later got a 5-6lb channel cat on the bobber and crawler. We are getting some warmer weather this week so I'm hoping the crappies slide up shallow.

I've had lower back.issues pretty consistently since my early 20s. Had both a physical therapist and a chiropractor recommend walking and some basic yoga poses\stretches. I've managed to stay out of their offices for 3 years now, all I did was get a yoga mat and a treadmill and start exercises 3-5 days a week. That said I got lazy over the winter and stopped and guess what? Now my back feels like crap. It's funny you posted this because I started my routine back up today to get my back in shape...I came home did my exercises then came upstairs hopped on bass resource and saw this timely post.

Think I'm gonna pick up a whisker seeker hog seeker rod and throw some 65lb power pro on my Garcia 6600 and see how that works. Also considering a BPS graphite musky rod or an Ugly Stik tiger rod instead of the hog seeker.

I have an Abu garcia 6600 c4 but I wasn't sure if it had the power to stop a 35-40lb fish if it went for a brushpile. I was gonna step up to a 7000 but maybe that's overkill.

So I've caught Flatheads before on throw lines but never targeted them with Rod and Reel and this summer I'd like to change that. I already have ideas for terminal tackle and have several good bait choices locally available, namely chubs, green sunfish and small bullheads. What I need are rod, reel and line recommendations. For context im open to either casting or spinning and I'd expect the fish to top out around 40bs...biggest I've ever seen around here is 60ish so I'm not expecting giants.

Wow @MN Fisher I don't know what to say man. I'm not sure what the realistic best outcome is but that's what I hope for you. Teri and I have you and Nora in our thoughts.

On my days off lately I've been doing this way too much...my issue has been my days off have all been either nasty cold or brutally windy.....or both. That said I'm heading up to see my parents next week and pan fish with my dad for a few days. Weather as of now looks fantastic so I'm hopeful. Hang in there buddy.

No wonder I didn't recognize it. I didn't even know they had reels. Wonder who makes them? Is it decent?

I'm supremely jealous. Oh and what reel is that?

My grandfather is 94 and just stopped driving in the past year or so...still has a vehicle. My parents will be 70 and 68 this year...can't wait til I get to make this judgement call.

About a month ago a guy I work with gets a call from his dad...he gets off the phone and says oh cool my dad got me a ticket to a Lutefisk feed. I said Oh so your dad hates you?
