  1. Great post. Thanks Glen. Or should I say Mr. Glen after watching Hank Parker yesterday. ?
  2. Congratulations and best of luck. Looks good.
  3. Good question. I was thinking if you don’t own the boat, you maybe better off looking for a used bass boat. The expense for all you want to do may be close or equal to the cost of a used aluminum bass boat.
  4. I must have misunderstood your post. I thought you have the puck.
  5. Welcome aboard Joey..
  6. First welcome aboard Brandon. I would start a new post as things have changed and there maybe some who have bought what your interested in. You’ll get a lot more views and answers. Good luck

    Welcome aboard....
  8. Your good to go. Good choice ?
  9. You need to keep it in your boat so when you loose one you can take it out on it. Snap it over your knee and watch all the looks you get...
  10. Shhhhh keep it down. It was a secret we were keeping. ?? good find for that price you can buy a few..
  11. First thing welcome to the forum Bigfishie. The Shimano SLX is a good set up for the money and will last you a long time. There were several good suggestion giving take your time and good luck. Make sure you post the first fish you catch with your new setup.??
  12. Not to mention Pythons.
  13. Heck they always say if your good at something stick with it.??
  14. Finally got around to reading this. First thanks AJ for the post. It was like walking down memory lane. It’s amazing how many of the BR family think alike. I guess that’s the bond along with fishing that bring us together. I guess I bounce back and forth between 3 and 5. The most fun is in the 5 mode when I’m fishing with the wife or grandson. The 3 when in tournament’s. But the 5 is by far the best. To spend a day with either one and seeing the excitement when they hook something is worth it’s weight in gold. And this may sound dumb but I still get enjoyment when I see the wife getting snagged and trying to free her lure. on the lighter side the last time she got snagged I told her I was gonna trade her in for two 20 yr. olds she laugh and told me I wasn’t wired for 220. Again thanks for the great post.
  15. I’m sorry but I think everyone has exhausted all the ideas of what one can do. The time it’s going to take to go out and get the boat pull up anchors and then go pick the kids up at the dock it would be quicker safer and for sure better piece of mind to just trailer it each day.....
  16. Great minds think alike..???
  17. Good idea. There’s a company that sells those and if you want to save some money , you can just buy their brackets and make your own poles. I would use two so the boat doesn’t swing back and forth. And since you fish shallow you’ll be better off than using a TM with spot lock. Shallow is where I always use my poles instead of spot lock for less noise and commotion. I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to use the name of the company but you can look it up under manual anchor poles.
  18. Sounds like you have a plan. I had a fortrex for my last boat and they are built like a tank. But I would be the opposite and go with the upgraded TM first. My choice is a Ultrex. Then all your electronics up front can be linked and spot lock as they say is a game changer. JMHO but like I said you seem to have a good plan already. Good luck on your choice..
  19. We have a winner.....
  20. I saw them. I need to do a lot more research. Like why 5 year warranty when Dakota has 11 year warranty. Could be the additional cost covers the additional years. Like I said I have some research to do.
  21. Not for a lure but for a set of car keys. I was on the Ocklawaha river in Florida when I went to toss my keys to my friend and sure enough they ended up in the river. No big deal right. We’ll where we were at was in the middle of nowhere and no spare set of keys. I’m already to jump in when my friend points out a gator around 100 or so feet behind me in the water. I wait awhile and it just stays there. So I decide before it gets dark I have to go in. I guess at least 10 minutes go buy and my friend notices that the gator went down and out of site. To make a long story shorter, I found my keys and got out in one piece but I hope I never have to do that again.
  22. Mooring whips. That way if the wind or wave are blowing your boat towards the dock it won’t let it hit.

The biggest problem is you hear guys out there that just call and call and call. Then they wonder why there call shy. Its a shame your area is that pressured, kinda take a lot of the thrill out of it.
  25. We all or break dancing. You are definitely right. I had one lay there for a few minutes, I picked it up by it’s feet and all heck broke loose. I had one leg in each hand and my friend stood there enjoying the show. I finally told him to wring it’s neck because it was wearing my butt out.
