    Welcome Aboard!!!
  4. I mainly fish a lake that was impounded in the year 1984 and is strictly C&R for all black bass. This lake's main water supply is a small river that is full of smallmouth. I have only witnessed one smallie caught the same year the lake was impounded and it was 20+ inches. I catch plenty of largemouth but never any smallmouth. I never see or hear of anyone catching any smallies in this lake. :-? I know they have to be there, don't they? Do you think they are just staying so deep or has the largemouth just overcome the population of the smallmouth? The lake has a max depth of 65 feet at the dam and a average depth of 15-20 feet. The lake is 2650 acres with mostly flooded timber. I'm puzzled??? :-?
  5. Hurry back man, I'll miss the humor while your gone. Hope everything is well and you have a speedy recovery.
  6. You did the right thing by fixing it back, pretty darn good job too. I kinda did like the carnage though. ;D
  7. Below RoLo's pic it say's Notemigonus crysoleucas? Ok T-rig, follow me here.... There is a smiley winking, typically meaning someone is joking with you. Next, I will break it down for ya.... Re rig it, cast out again (Rerigith castoutagin) Any more questions, feel free to ask Now this dumb swiss guy got it! :-[ ;D ;D Don't feel bad T-rig, I didn't catch it either until Speedbead put that up and then I busted out laughing for being so dumb!!! ;D

Welcome Aboard!!!! Lots of good people on this site. They make you feel right at home.
  9. Glad I read this, I was looking at these at Wally World today after work and thought about buying a pack to try. I am a sucker for something different. Oh well...live and learn. ;D
  10. Don't worry man, I did not take it that way at all. I always thought the mid-west had larger than normal size bass. Is this not the case?
  11. That's the way to put it to him Mom. ;D
  12. Tips on mid-day heat fishing........find shade and take a nap. j/k ;D Nice fish!! I usually fish real slow with plastics or chunk crankbaits on steep ledges. I get a few this way when it's really hot with blue-bird skies.

I'm going night fishing this Friday and can only hope to stick a couple of pigs like that. Great looking fish!!!
  14. Dinks or no dinks, be proud my man. Gonna go night fishing this Friday, (saying this with my fingers crossed).
  15. I'll be waiting for the pics, knowing you it will be another jaw dropper. Good luck!!!
  16. Dang girl, very nice fish. You gonna put a whippin on these guys if you keep that up. ;D
  17. I remember when I joined back in Dec. on this site. I had been lurking for about three months before I joined. Everyone on here has been very polite and funny as heck. I have learned so much and it really shows on the lake. Even on bad days at the lake I still learn by thinking about what everyone talks about on here. Anyway, Welcome Aboard!!!
  18. I honestly think they do get a little used to seeing the the same things throwed at them all the time. The lake I fish the most has so much pressure on it, it has to happen.
  19. I don't think you have over exaggerated one bit. I fished in a pond on a golf course about 9 yrs. ago. One Saturday in early June, I had caught 75 fish from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm. The fish ranged from 6-7 inches to 6.5 pounds. Best day of chasing green fish I've ever had in my life. Those hidden away ponds can be a special treat. They were all caught on a buzzbait.
  20. Sounds like the type of pond we all dream of finding!!!!
  21. Welcome Aboard!!! Lots of good people on here.
  22. Those jigs look good enough to eat. It looks like someone spilled a bag of Skittles. Eye candy!!! ;D
  23. I actually have a few of the Mogulla jigs. I used them alot this past spring. They slip through cover like crazy and don't get hung up easily.
  24. Man, the bills on those cranks look like they would cut through the water like a razor. Beautiful baits.
