  1. Thanks i just watched a video on the spin rocket. Seems solid
  2. So I haven’t purchased a new casting reel in a few years, my last one being a fuego CT. I’m looking to purchase a new reel for frogging. I don’t do it much and when I do it’s only about 3 months out of the year. I’ve been eye balling the Daiwa tatulas but have become overwhelmed with all the different model Tatulas available. Which tatula is comparable to a curado k in size? The specs of the 200 size tatula seem much larger than the 200 curado k. Any other suggestions in the $100-$170 range? Ive never fished a quantum but the smoke s3 looks to be a solid reel as well
  3. I draw up both lines together then I pull on the tag end by itself and then pull on the main line by itself. Don’t think it really matters. I always have the loop cinch down on top of the overhand knot. But I’ve seen videos where the loop is cinched down the way you describe
  4. They are good when they work. I bought a bunch a few years ago and half of them wouldn’t swim properly.
  5. Is there any other prop bait on the market that comes close to this old reliable bait or is the smithwick still king?
  6. Go fishing. A few casts and the dust will be gone
  7. Check line for nicks and abrasion and retie as needed
  8. I love the compactness of my lews tournament mb, with that being said there are much better performing reels out there for the price.
  9. I catch fish off floating clumps all the time
  10. Set drag by feel. Yes it’s that simple
  11. Ned rig, ned rig, ned rig
  12. Sorry for your loss. Why you selling all your gear? You quit fishing?
  13. Baby 1 minus hands down. They cast better too chartruese is what I use 90% of the time. It just works for me
  14. I agree. I fish my 703 over my 734 or 704 whenever I need an “all purpose setup” And am limited to what I can carry.
  15. Yes this happens because of retrieving slack line, but it’s never been so much of an issue where I’ve had backlashes or knots. Every once in a while I’ll make a long cast and hold the line in between my fingers to get the line on tight.
  16. A little off topic, but is that the dicks exclusive lews baitcasting reel for $79.99? How do you like it?
  17. What he said. Spiral wraps don’t add sensitivity to the blank
  18. Doesn’t matter. I use a leader for abrasion resistance and ease of retying. My choice has nothing to do with line visibility.
  19. ? im asking how Fireline original compares to ultra 8
  20. How much different is the ultra 8 vs the original fused? I’ve used 14 and 20lb original for years surf fishing and most recently have been using 6lb crystal original on my light rod for panfish/trout. For years I used 4lb mono for this application but wanted to try a superline/braid and have been pleased with the original crystal
  21. Thanks dodge at first I thought I had a cracked guide. I’m digging this light Fireline for super light stuff
  22. Ive been using 6lb Fireline a few trips now on a light rod. Is it normal for this stuff to look fuzzy/frayed looking? I’ve been pulling on it and the knots seem to be holding fine and haven’t had any breaks but I’m used to power pro
  23. This ^^^ Once it dried out it was back to normal. The reels became unusable in any sort of rain
