Feeling Inadequate....
One? Might be luck. Two? More? Nah. Nobody has that much luck. That’s knowledge and skill.

Doesnt anyone use rhe old fashion proven texas rig worms
I agree with you that a true Texas rig incorporates a bullet weight. I think over time the rigging of a plastic worm or other soft plastic bait on a worm hook has included the bait and the worm hook without any additional weight, and the term "weightless Texas rig" came into being. I use that presentation and nomenclature quite frequently.

The key to catching bigger bass
As do I. A bass is a predator. In many waters it’s the apex predator. No animal save man wastes time and energy consuming prey when the need to feed is not there, unless it is an easy opportunity to good to resist. If a big bass is not hungry, it’s not liable to take a bait unless it’s too good to resist, or it irritates it into striking it. Good stuff!

Getting the itch. What combo am I missing?
True. I have a small inflatable. Sometimes I just want to fish the bank lol.

Memorial Day 2021 ~
I worked at Reagan National on-and-off for years. I used to visit Arlington National Cemetery now and then. Viewing the final resting place of Audie Murphy is a humbling experience. If you do not know, Arlington was the estate of Mary Anna Curtis Lee, the wife of Robert E. Lee.

Bycatch
Pound for pound, bluegills rank high as great fighters. If there were 8-10 lb bluegills, they’d be major trophies!

Latest Catch Pics Thread
We have been getting pounded here with rain and thunderstorms for two weeks. But it’s been almost two days since the last downpour so I figured I’d give it a shot this morning. Bad news. Fished for four hours and only caught one bass. Good news. It was on my new rig, a Daiwa Tatula 100H on a Dobyns Fury FR705CB. And caught it on a new squarebill- a 3/8 oz 6th Sense Crush 50X in tipped crawfish. Not that big, but always nice to catch something on a new rig it’s first time out.

tangled spool when fishing wacky rig
That’s what I do. Religiously. Cast. Let it start to sink. Lift rod up while manually closing bail to take out slack, reel in until line is semi-slack. Wait for strike...

any other Trilene knot users for mono/fluoro?
I don’t use it a lot, but I do use it at times. For the reason you mention.

Best Rod for a Mitchell 300
Still have my old Mitchell 300 on its original Eagle Claw glass rod that my dad gave me when I was 11 or 12 years old. It will still catch fish. Just can’t close the bail manually.

Memorial Day 2021 ~
No offense meant, but Veterans Day is for veterans. I am a veteran. Memorial Day is for those who made the ultimate sacrifice. All gave some. Some gave all.

I found this in the hall of my school!
I use EWG’s a lot, but use round offsets for weightless Zoom Tricks.

Abu Garcia Gen Ike EZ Cast
Maybe. It could be good line but not spooled correctly. It could also be very old. New line sounds like a good starting point.

A pond that is full of alot of Hydrilla/vegetation
Pretty much. It will sink but slowly. Which allows an angler to work it over or through weedy spots, or slowly work it through across the bottom. It’s really versatile in shallow ponds. Sinking 6’-7’ is doable. 12’ and over and you’d be waiting a while lol. I get many strikes as it sinks. Sometimes it’s a sink day; sometimes a swim it day; and sometimes a slow bottom crawl day. A 3/0 round offset hook keeps the weeds and muck down.

A pond that is full of alot of Hydrilla/vegetation
If you have a finesse rig, try a weightless Zoom Trick Texas rig and work it around and through the vegetation. A frog on top is a good option as well, but not on a finesse rig lol.

Shingles
I had chickenpox for the second time when I was 41. It. Was. Bad. It's herpes zoster, the same virus that causes shingles. I got the vaccine as soon as I could.

Favorite Ice cream thread!
Easy question. Breyer's butter pecan. Don't even need to think about it.

Abu Garcia Gen Ike EZ Cast
First question. What line is spooled on the reel? If braid, it may be dug in and stopping the cast mid-flight.

Techniques for 6'8" M/XF spinning rod
I really like my BXS610MLXF for wacky rigs and weightless TR's with Zoom Tricks and Senkos.

I'm confused
I use this knot to tie 6 lb mono leader to 20 lb Sufix 832 braid. Reel is a Daiwa Revros LT2500 on a Fenwick HMX 66M-FS-2 rod. It’s very easy to tie and has not failed me yet. It goes through my guides well. They aren’t micro guides, though.
