  1. Ha! I just think if you hoppin that jig through some pretty good boulders and it falls into a crack… good luck lol. I guess if I ain’t got any boulders than I don’t have to worry about it. One more for you, DB structure jig mentioned on this thread, you ever try it?
  2. That fluoro Hack Attack does okay in rock?
  3. I’m not talking about it coming through grass but thought that the line tie sticking up as it is maybe a 45 degree angle covers up bite of hook when trying to hook fish? I already knew which two jigs you were going to comment by the way ?. Thank ya
  4. That looks like some good stuff right there! Enjoy ?
  5. Yes, that one caught my eye too
  6. Also, this is a jig I feel real good about, looks very similar to Dirty Jigs Pitchin Jig, but I have @Catt’s voice in my head telling me that the angle of line-tie is not the best for hook-ups. I would not be surprised if y’all have not seen this jig before. I found it in a local tackle shop. It’s an E-factor pitchin jig.
  7. Yeah it’s a good looking jig. I think you’re right; I might be worried about it around wood though. Big hook and not that thick a weedguard looks like
  8. iRod 704C 15lb big game
  9. I was literally just about to ask about this jig. How stiff is the weed guard and what size hook?
  10. Ive never tossed a structure jig before but looking at it…. yeah looks like it could work in a lotta scenarios. Pretty cool lookin jig, thanks y’all
  11. Specific jig, please
  12. Hey ya’ll, What is your favorite do-all jig? One that you feel comfortable taking into grass, wood, rocks, skipping docks, anything.
  13. Know these and like their stuff ??. Afraid I don’t know the others, I’ll have to look. Used to LOVE soundgarden. Still listen to them sometimes. Chris Cornell was an amazing singer, RIP. I think some people could argue that some of the bands I listed are not quite metal either
  14. This is an old photo I have from Badin Lake 2020. Shore fishing for catfish overnight… one of my favorite photos
  15. Yeah, I think there’s a different appeal to it. The subtleness of the bite, the relaxation of slowing fishing on the bottom, the excitement of something living pulling on the end of your line that you can’t see.
  16. Might just be me but nah, I like catching bigger fish and more of them. Don’t care how I catch them. The trouble is I need to get better at it ?. I find myself fishing on the bottom a lot more than I used to Have enjoyed reading your thoughts on this post
  17. A while back I tried the ol brass n glass combo for t-rigs. Just based on availability, I stopped using them and switched to no bead. Did not notice a bit of difference. I don’t think a bead is necessary and not sure it helps any
  18. Hey ya’ll, My playlist is Judas Priest, Metallica, Black Sabbath, Pantera, Rammstein, TOOL, Slipknot, Slayer, and I enjoy many others. Genuinely like all music though. Grew up listening to Country
  19. I have no set rules for how I go about fishing, only theories, and those are often disproven
  20. Hey ya’ll, I found myself in some rather deep conversation with my two fellow apartment-mates this morning. These two gentlemen, are, generally speaking, pretty high-caliber dudes and I expect them to do pretty well. I was trying to strike up conversation with one of them this morning to figure out what makes him tick. He is pretty big into self improvement and at one point he made a claim that he believes the four healthiest habits that people can have are exercising, meditating, reading, and writing. First, what are your thoughts on this? Now, at one time or another I’ve found myself pretty big into self-improvement as well but Ive noticed that a couple things can happen when I’m only out for myself and just doing habits for the sole reason that they are good for me. One, I feel like a hamster in a hamster wheel and I hate that. And second, I will start to look at other people differently and at times in my past I’ve even fallen into the trap of thinking that because I do all these things that make me better, then other people just “aren’t as good”. And once I realized this pattern of thought in myself, I couldn’t stand it. So, I started looking for a better sense of balance and purpose that is mindful of others and I’m still looking for it. What do you think about all of this and what makes you tick?
  21. I just attempted an upgrade to overeasy eggs. Not a total failure. Yolks still intact. Some parts still runny. Slightly over cooked but close. Seasoned with cayenne, salt, pepper, and Greek seasoning. They were pretty dang good Ive continued to eat eggs every morning that I can.
  22. Maybe so, idk. I don’t see how fish can remember anything about a shaky head worm other than maybe general size and color. If there is one thing that I’ve learned this summer, it is to not underestimate the shaky head. I watched a guy in two trips on Badin hook up with bigger bass than I’d managed to catch over many more days on a little shaky head with a finesse worm. Just incredible.
  23. I don’t know about no Ned rig but I’m very new to river smallie fishing, literally only done it about 3-4 times and right now, a jig head worm is about the only thing I’ll throw. I learned how to let current drift your bait where you want it and otherwise just used my techniques for LMB in stiller water.
  24. For punching, yeah, you want a heavy rod. I don’t think many would debate that. Maybe @Deleted account, just because. And heavy braid, IMO 50lb+, I use 65. Heavy weight, heavy flipping hook, just pure hand to hand combat with the fish. I also like a heavy rod for frogs and use the same rod for frogs that I do punching, a Lew’s Carbon Fire 7’3” Heavy. For spinnerbaits, the fact that I have a heavy rod for that as well is just brand coincidence. Falcon rods tend to fish lighter than their rating, so it more like a medium heavy. For spinnerbaits you want accuracy around lily pads. To be able to fit your spinnerbait in holes, cracks that run a ways through the pad field, to be able to skirt along the edge of a pad line. Anything like that. Just as close as you can get to the pads. Takes a while to get accurate. Edit: Also, I punch through most lily pads with 3/4oz. 1oz or 1.25oz is plenty. Not all lily pads are the same though. I’ve seen grass mats that I thought I would have to lob a 1.5oz in the air to get through.not lily pads though
