  1. Wait till you hear how much I’ve spent on spinnerbaits
  2. I pretty readily share where I fish because I dont think it matters any. I plan to fish on Stillhouse, Somerville, Belton, and Brownwood in TX with possible trips to Ray Roberts and Choke Canyon but those will not be regular trips
  3. I usually don’t tell people this but sometimes I even use the trackpad 🤯
  4. Clicked my mouse Yeah, you could say I’m a daring individual that lives life on the edge
  5. 2022 was an awesome year for starting fish. I didn’t fish until March in NC and the first fish I caught the whole year was a 4lber on a buzzbait. Then the first fish I caught in New York was my best for the state, a 6.21lb chunk on a spinnerbait. This year I do not anticipate fishing until possibly February but potentially as late as May.
  6. Yeah I gotchu. You’re right. I need to cool down a little
  7. It ain’t that simple. I’ve been in Disco’s hood, as well
  8. Yes I stay active. What I do varies. I was encouraged to see that this winter, I was once again able to paddle a kayak for miles. I've been using a pedal drive. In June of 2022, I injured my shoulder (rotator cuff) and had problems with both for months. Paddling worsened my condition while I was injured and was a factor in me getting hurt. I was stubborn, but eventually took a break from fishing, kayaking, and lifting and followed with physical therapy. The results are that now I can fish and do any (any) exercise that I please without injury and minimal to no pain. I recently put this to the test. I actually believe my shoulder continues to get stronger.
  9. Cover is not even a consideration when deciding between the two. A jig can come through grass, mats, laydowns, brushpiles, bushes, standing timber, etc. If you fish jigs and one of these forms of cover beats you while jig fishing, pick a different jig or evaluate how you are fishing it. I’ve never encountered any cover that I thought was too thick for a jig. As I told @TnRiver46 recently, I’ll throw a jig over limbs or dock supports.
  10. Interchangeable. I like a jig more in colder water/prespawn or when the water is dirtier. I still will throw a jig in ultra clear water. Rods are complicated for me because t-rigs and jigs can go from 1/16oz - 1.5oz and 6inches of water to 40ft and thin hooks to heavy flipping hooks. Arbitrary numbers here.
  11. Okay. Good looks, good looks. I cannot say whether I agree or disagree but nice.
  12. I do that and then that’s it. I watched a salt strong video on it. Fraying is a risk to any knot and any line. FG is no exception.
  13. I never allow the knot to go onto the spool. Just shy
  14. I am sure your regular squad of helpers and the rest of us can steer you in the right direction 👍🏻. Now the Buckeyes…. I don’t know if we can steer them in the right direction.
  15. I gotta send you a message because I’ve been gone in NC and I didn’t keep track of the weather. If you are going for 10lber, prespawn could be your deal and I don’t know when we are looking at that to begin. Kinda wondering if the earliest stages are right about now.
  16. Get ‘im Disco @thediscochef
  17. Jig is an easy bait to fish but sometimes a difficult bait to make work in small bodies of water, especially ponds. I'm not sure the reason for this and it is far from a 'rule'. Just want to make sure you have some expectation management @ol'crickety. Swimming a jig can be an exception.
  18. Another vote to stick with the FG. If you are fishing around heavy cover, ensure you monitor the tag ends of the knot throughout your day of fishing. Ensure you tighten the knot fully before use and leave sufficient tag end length. Do not cut them too short. The tag ends should be just short enough to comfortably go through the guides. A proper FG will outlast most knots you tie to your lure. It is close to 100%.
  19. Crankbaits were one of those deals that I told myself I’d be in serious bait monkey trouble with if I ever got into them. Well I’m into em right now and I have this fantastic habit of throwing them around wood so
  20. Had a few of these during the Michigan Alabama game. My absolute favorite beer
  21. Done deal. Really good game Who’s next?
  22. @12poundbass beat me to it
  23. @Woody B absolutely awesome. What was weight on that flathead? I see you holding the scale.
