Sufix 832 vs Power Pro original for spinning
They are completely different lines. PP is 4 strand weave, it is coarser, louder, but cuts veggies better. 832 is 8 strand weave, much smoother, quiter, limper but not so good with cutting veggies. Unless I am fishing thick vegetation 832 is my choice.

Medium light for smallmouth?
I once told a bass I caught him with a walleye rod. He was not too happy. Anyway, most of my smallmouth fishing is done with a ML spinning rod, but not exclusively.

spinning rod for bigger baits
Europeans fish for pike with spinning rods and very big baits. Lots of options there if you are willing to buy overseas.

Backpacks ... yup another Backpack topic
The kind of backpack to buy would probably depend on the intended purpose . Travelling to spot and staying there for long time vs. moving conatantly; minimalist vs. bring along everything. Im a minimalist, so 1 plano box + few bags of soft plastics and terminal tackle is all I ever bring in a bag if I am on foot. For that purpose 511 tactical med size bag has been perfect for me. If you need more room they have bigger sizes. I found fishing specific bags to be cumbersome and uncomfortable in comparison.

Daiwa Ballistic vs Tatula
I believe that except for magseal, tatula lt and ballistic are the same, or almost the same reels.

I Don't Care!
I often find bass where I find baitfish, but those bass usually want nothing to do with my artificial immitators. Why would they, when there is abundance of the real thing.

Spinnerbaits saved my vaca twice, Should be must have lures in the boat or bag
I throw spinnerbaits a good deal when I target pike. For bass I prefer paddle/boot tail.

Oring vs hair band vs other uses ect

Question about using wacky rig in deeper water
Make your own jika rigs with wacky hooks. Endless possibilities there with weight and hook size/shape.
-
Am I the only guy who doesn't replace hooks?
All hooks get dull, stock or not and when it happens, I sharpen them.
-
Am I the only guy who doesn't replace hooks?
But why would I want hooks I would not change anyway ?.

Am I the only guy who doesn't replace hooks?
No you are not. I am exact same way.

Daiwa Tatula LT or Shimano Stradic FL (spinning)? I'm torn on which to get.
I got both and like both but give an edge to FL. Tatula lost its “smoothness” earlier and its antireverse clutch started failing on me after 6 months of use. Stradic has a better line lay, but it is heavier and that heaviness applies to the way the handle turns the rotor. If I was in your place I would exercise some patience and wait for vanford. That way you have all the good stuff from FL in very lightweight body. Keep in mind the balance with 7’2” stick.

Knowing Bass: The Scientific Approach to Catching More Fish
I have not read this book but I read “high percentage fishing” by Josh Alwine when I first got into fishing. I highly recommend it despite its focus on live bait fishing. It is basically a statistical analysis of the available big bass records.

Shimano Nerds, Assemble!!
Vanford= stradic fl ci4 so, stradic fl with carbon body and mgl rotor

How many “main” setups do you have?
Kayak fishing I stay with 3 setups at most. These 3 cover my favorites: 76 mml steez ags, 2500 stradic fl, 8lb sufix 832 - for all the finesse needs Fmj with alphas ct sv, 40 lb sufix 832 - for jigs and trigs 611 m+ adrena with alphas ct sv, 20 lb sufix 832 - for everything else (very versatile stick)
