  1. sometimes you are king other times you are the bait.
  2. fish them with a bobber and a jig head.
  3. They were relentless biting in the high sun in 3-4 feet clear water as i was wading. They grabbed the arashi popper, jerk baits. At first i was havin fun catching them but then i went for bluegills changing baits to an ice fishing jig with tiny plastic on it and they still were a pain in the XXX so i had to move and i still caught them in with the bluegills. rock bass attack areas.
  4. Have you ever eatin a rock bass? I searched it and some folks say its flakey white meat and tastes good while others say it tastes muddy and when cleaning the fish look out for parasites in a yellow form of a bump.
  5. I own pvc material type of waders and only use 3M marine Adhesive fast cure 5200. This is the product many wader repair companies use but wont tell you how easy it is to use and cheap to buy. Go to youtube and watch how to find holes in your waders by spraying rubbing alchohol on the waders and then patching with the 3 m product. https://www.amazon.com/3M-Marine-Adhesive-Sealant-06535/dp/B098Q1YWWD
  6. Went to a new lake to wade and bankfish in park rapids minnesota area. Arrived at lake 1pm and got home at 1am. Caught a ton of rock bass, couldnt keep them off of whatever I threw. I only caught 2 small dink bass so i went for the bluegills and they were hot on the tiniest lure jig with a tiny platic shrimp dunked in yellow spike it on a slip bobber. t Wife caught a nice walleye and she didnt want to pose with it so i held it up for the photo, she also caught another walleye earlier along with a couple largemouth and a few brownie and of course pike. She out fished me today catching all her fish from shore using a rapala rip -stop. She was so happy with the last big walleye that she was singing when she was cleaning it at the waters edge. Fishing with some buddies.
  7. I am retired, gettin home from a trip usually around 11:30 pm i just dont jump in bed. Mondays trip started fishing at 1pm and pulled into the driveway at 1AM. After unloading the car i reorganize all the tackle that the wife and i used. I then have to hang my waders up to dry out, all my gear i wear while wading is soaked and have to lay it out to dry, then i have to eat, check myself for ticks, shower. My wife is upstairs tending to the fish we caught, she guts and cleans it at the lake and then washes the filets when we get home, then marinates them. Then next day i will retie all the rods, oil them up because i dunked 2 reels yesterday while wade fishing. Retie my snelled lures that got damaged, make new snelled leaders that are damaged and make up for the lures that got snagged, only lost one tube jig yesterday. Its a big grind and clean up is the hardest worst part.
  8. Broke tip off my favorite light tackle rod 3 weeks ago. Went to scheels and bought the kit with 3 different size tips and the wax-glue stick included. Cost $2.99 and works fine.
  9. Throw the wacky out and swim it back in like a jerk bait. As you jerk it the worm will fold itself into a U shape and then sink, repeat. I use mosquito hook snelled with a swivel.
  10. I turn my phone off before i pull out of the driveway. Lately havnt been listening to the radio as there are to many news breaks and i dont want to hear news that may be fake. Driving to the lake calms me and looking at the farmers fields here in minnesota growing higher each week is interesting to see.
  11. At the end of april after a long winter of hibernation besides going to the gym i weighed 183. Now that i am back to wading and bank fishing i am down to 172.
  12. I like this one.
  13. sticking with my pfluegurs, XP, President, and supreme.
  14. 1. Shakesphere 2. Ugly Stick Carbon 3. VMC
  15. Before my outing i put all my soft baits i plan on using including all used ones into an empty worm pack. I then drop in copious amounts of berkley Powerbait scent and smoosh them all around and let them ferment.
  16. Well stated, i feel the the same about being bored using same lures and techniques. 1 year ago my wife caught 26 bass from the bank by standing in the exact same spot for 2 hours all the while i was out wading and walking the bank experimenting with different lures and i caught 3 fish. I was ok with that.
  17. maglites are so 80ish.
  18. No, but i did just finish knitting 1/8 of a sock.
  19. Name your price hahaha?
  20. Yesterday i removed a hanfull of lures i dont use such as whopper plopper, Storm swimbaits, lipless cranks, vibrating jig and the buzzbait. I havnt needed those lures and tired of lookin at them. As i mentioned before in another topic i have started throwing 8" berkley kingtails again and having fun. Also keeping the flukes, square bills, jigs, top waters and jerks in the box.
  21. Last time out my line was gettin fouled with cotton like sheddings from cotton willow trees? Wherever it comes from it caused some big problems while casting and reeling in. My top guide would get clogged with the cotton and wasnt able to reel in the line without first picken it out. The little bits that made it through the guide would reel onto the spool and when casting would cause big issues you can imagine yourself.
  22. Due to inflation i stopped buying cookies that i would munch on while fishing.
  23. Sounds better than takng a fresh pile of elephant dung and squeezing out the water into your mouth. Amazing what a man in dire consequences will do to survive.
  24. Wife and i for the first time in 4 weeks stepped away from the river fishing for walleye and brownies which we were succeessful at but the dam has been releasing lots of water the past week due to more rain. The dam at the river we fish is releasing 2000 gps of water and it has flooded out our fishing spots. It is not a giant dam or river but the effect it has is major. When they release a bit more now and then the rolling waves of the surges are like being at a swimming parks wave pool. Pic of the dam. So we went to our favorite lake and fished for crappie and blugill. Caught lots more bluegill than crappie as gills are spawning now. I was messing around with bass before the blugill and after throwing a spinner bait 1 cast and then a chatter bait 2 casts i put them away and just wanted to fish lazilly. I was burnt out from casting jerkbaits, crankbaits the past month at the river pulling them upstream against the current. Do you ever get to that point where you are just tired of casting a thousand casts and want to chill out? So i pulled out the red 8" berkley kingtail t-rigged and cast it out and sat on a rock and slowly dragged it in. I caught a hand full of bass, nothing big 2-3 lbs but enjoyed just dragging away.
  25. i usually fish 8 to 10 hrs when wade and bank fish. I drink a large warm powerade sugar free sports drink and after that its water. Warm water as i dont waste space in my cooler for chilled water.
