On The Water Etiquette
Now dont get on me as i didnt fund this study, i just grabbed this info from http://targetwalleye.com/flashy-vs-muted-jerkbaits-double-hooking-shiners-bass-still-easy-to-catch/ 10. Marine industry-funded study finds no harm from wake boats. When wake surfing at least 200′ from shore and in water that’s at least 10′ deep, > Boat wakes dissipate quickly and have little impact on shorelines compared to wind-driven waves. > The amount of sediment caused by shoreline erosion from boat traffic or wind driven waves is insignificant compared to the amount of sediment that flows in naturally through a lake’s watershed. > Boat wakes can increase oxygenation, which is beneficial for aquatic species.

Does anyone else struggle with depression?
Talk to the psychiatrist about Paroxetine, its strong anti depressant and helped me out. When i got out of the military i found i was lost and really missed all the commaradarie of it. Talking to a shrink never did a d**n thing for me but made me feel more helpless with all the bs they say to you. The meds allowed my brain to recalibrate. I then picked my own self up off the ground and got back into the saddle. No person is going to hold your hand and make it better, only you can do that. No one understands serious deep suicide type of depression unless they actually suffered with it for a good period of time.

Scheels ONE rods?
My grandfather worked for scheels, he was the schwinn bike repair man in the basement of the broadway store downtown fargo. Downtown closed many years ago and moved to the west acres mall where granddad still repaired bikes. They were short of space so they moved all the bike repair stands, tools and parts to my grandpas house basement. Scheels would deliver the bikes to his basement. Scheels also had him stringing tennis rackets in his basement. As a kid i had many schwinn bikes gifted to me, my favorite was my 5 speed blue and chrome stingray with high risers with tassle and shifter in front of me on the main bar. I met old man Scheels a few times when they celebrated my granddads birthday at work back in the 60,s. When my granddad passed away in the 1992 i helped my dad clean out the house and basement. Scheels came and got the bike stands and the racket stringer but left all the specialty tools and the parts, the parts were new old stock. My dad had an auction and sold all the schwinn parts. Scheels has a huge store in fargo with a ferris wheel and a small store in morehead minn. I always got a discount, all i ever had to say was my grandpa herb works downstails and i got the good price.

Aches and Pains
I am staring at my 10th joint operation, mri coming soon on my 2x operated shoulder. An old slap labrum tear being tormented by the long head biceps tendon that attatches to the slap tear. Biceps tendon tests as torn or frayed badly. May get a tenotomy wher they just cut the biceps tendon off at the labrum slap tear and let the tendon slide down into the humeral head wher it will get stuck and reattach itself with scar tissue. Or get a tenodesis wher the same cut is done to biceps tendon but then reattached with a screw onto the humeral head.

2022 MN Season Thread
every lake we visited last saturday in detroit lakes minn was iced over except the big culverts had a open path of water. No bait fish in site and the hr we spent casting, bobbering not a sniff. Thought i would catch a bass or pike as i did last year at this exact time on the small underspin crappie lures as last year i couldnt keep the bass off it.

Eating trash fish...
dont forget to add everyday plastic thats been broken down and plastic pellets that have been found in many ocean fishs stomachs. The pellets come from shipping containers that have been lost at sea containing the pellets that are used in the process of being melted down and made into water bottles, toys.........

Are my Rapala crankbaits ok?
This is a quote from a Rapala website review. "A lot of anglers have durability issues with balsa lures. I know several who have quit using them because they can’t keep ‘em in one piece. But please listen when I tell you this: If you repeatedly slap the DT Thug or any other balsa lure on the water, it’s going to break. Balsa is not made for that. If you’re one of those folks who whips their bait to remove leaves or weeds, you’ll crack this lure."

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Bait monkey very good to me again. This saturday i stopped into another estate sale just for the heck of it and found 2 tackle boxes. I picked out all the lures i was interested in and left some behind that i allready own. All but the micro crank are Rapala. There are 2 rapala countdowns, 1 DT Thug, 1 crankin rap and a couple floaters. Also the weedless jig heads and a bottom drag weight. All together after negotiating they cost me $12.00.
