Top 3 baits you're going to open ice out with?
A-Rig, Jerkbait, TRD, all worked slowwwwwwwly.

Squared back swim baits
I use a brand called big hammer for the few times I get to fish for musky and pike. Major league tail thump. Very thick plastic. Those BPS ones look more like a Jenko fishing booty shaker, which is a bit softer plastic but still lots of tail wag. These style of baits have a ton of roll to them to. I’m a fan.

The Goat
I tried out the baby goat on a Ned rig last year. Zero bites. I hope the regular goat does better for you.
-
Biffle Hardheads
Zoom Z-craw or Jr. was my most productive soft plastic w/ this application. Just make sure you always have a feel for the bottom and use a sweeping hook set. I lost a lot trying to Jack them. Also found my only bites came in rocky / gravel bottom reservoirs.

Small, High Action Trailer Recommendations
Grab the 3.5 swammer from x-zone and bite off first couple segments. It’ll fit better that way anyway. Those have serious roll and thump and fit really well on finesse swim jigs. You talking like 1/4 oz swim jig? That was my most productive lure last year.

Megabass Dark Sleeper
I used them quite a bit last year. It's simple. You fish grassy lakes with lots of vegatiation and mud/silt bottom? Dont bother. You fish primarily rocky gravel lakes with a touch of visibility? Then absolutely use them, because they git bit. They are exactly the ned rig of swimbaits as @A-Jay said, as they were my break glass in case of no-fish lure when fishing my favorite gravel / rock lake.

Favorite spring crankbaits
Exactly this. All the Curves, Sonicsides, Crush Flats, Rk Crawlers, Warts, and Little Johns and I can throw the better. Going to try the OG Slim (mediocre reviews), and the 13 Fishing Gordito for this spring.

Muddy water preference:chatterbait or spinnerbait ?
Begin the laughter, I've never caught a fish on a chatterbait, so spinner by a mile. The cop-out answer is, it depends on what body of water you're fishing. Grass vs. Rock vs. Timber. I don't fish a ton of grassy lakes, hence my theory on why no chatterbait fish.

Elites coming to my backyard again
I had Hackney, then Walters, then decided to go with Cherry. He had a lower pick percentage. I have thinking he’s pretty good with a flatside and at flipping docks. Which means he will miss the cut knowing my luck.

Livingston Lures
Is that one of the lures that has sound technology? I have lipless that has done well from them. It has a silent mode and a shad sound mode.

What are your favorite Shallow Water Cranks? Brand, Style, Colors?
Yeah, it hunts a lot. Definitely not a cold water lure. I’ve never thrown either the Rebel or Mann’s but from what I’ve read about the Mann’s, I would agree they are similar.

What are your favorite Shallow Water Cranks? Brand, Style, Colors?
I highly recommend the Movement 80X. Had one of my best days ever burning and pausing this over grass. I was literally giggling because I wasn’t just catching lots of fish, but they were blasting the lure. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/6th_Sense_Movement_80X_Crankbait/descpage-6SM80X.html

Now I know why bass numbers have declined.
Im not sure we’re talking about the same lake in MO, but my favorite lake has both big Muskie, and pretty darn good bass fishing. For awhile they had issues with flood control and various other issues that were affecting the fishing quality, but Muskie was not one of them. We love that you can be targeting big bass and every blue moon have a Muskie on the end of your line. Thats a BS move there on that fish in that pic. ticks me off.

You’ve been watching Hackney haven’t you? He was on fire today.

Baby bull shad users....
Maybe fish it on fluorocarbon. 10lb. That should help keep it down.

Favorite squarebill and why?!
Here's 2 that I haven't seen mentioned that I use specifically for their rattle. 1. 13 Fishing Scamp (A little BB sound) 2. KVD 1.5 Hard Knock. (More of a thud knock sound)

What is your favorite?
I haven’t seen these mentioned but my pb was caught on a 3/8 oz jig with a Z-man Batwingz as a trailer.

Favorite Shad Colored Swim Jig Trailers
The paint jobs on those are awesome. And I agree I'd favor the thinner head with the recessed line tie, looks like it would come through cover better. Thanks for sharing those. I might have to add some soon!

Favorite Shad Colored Swim Jig Trailers
So, you'd use a pearl, or pearl flash in this situation?

Favorite Shad Colored Swim Jig Trailers
I did quite well with bluegill colored swim jigs last year I want to branch out to shad colored swim jigs and trailers. What's your favorite to mimic a shad? I picked up a 6th sense divine swim jig and a V&M pacemaker in shad colors. I've seen some mentions for traditional paddle tail trailers, and then others like rage menace's. Any info would be welcomed. Thanks all.

Reaction Innovations Skinny dipper rigging
I know this is a super old post, but has anyone used a Skinny Dipper on a swim jig?

Line thru swimbaits...
I forgot he was looking for 1oz lures. That guy I’m throwing on a swimbait rod. Hmm. That missing hook deal must be both exhilarating and frustrating.
