  1. I will take accuracy over distance ANY day of the week.* Acuracy is best taught by you doing all the work. Also achieved that way. That being said, I bought my first DC reel. Putting it on my spinnerbait rod. Hoping it saves the occasionally oh expletive when throwing in the wind. One thing to be capable with your finger in a normal cast, but in gusting wind with light or sail like baits good luck. *except today. Today I want that one long cast that is out of reach of everyone including me.
  2. I ordered some hot dog roasters from Scheels on a Monday morning and they came on Tuesday. Big fan of buying at Scheels as I grew up hanging out with one of them.
  3. Which is crazy because the big ones don't eat well. Little ones are great OUT OF COLD water.
  4. I just grabbed 3 Fuego's in that price range after comparing everything online and in person.
  5. Agreed. Of course you can add any GM guy, Mopar guy, BMW guy, etc. Brand loyalty is a disease that misleads you. Instead focus on picking what really resolves your need in an optimal way.
  6. Free time is the farce I used to rationalize cool lights. ? The Lund 2075, Warrior 2090, YarCraft 2095BTX were all also on my shopping list. I prefer the glass boats for the dry storage, but the Lund is cavernous. Based on what was available this one fit perfectly and will make this and future summers great!
  7. With a 9 and 11 year old I wanted something flexible in case they want to bring friends. I love slop fishing and this goes about as skinny as my 521 did all while enabling a better parenting experience and not screwing up alone time. My free time is at night without the kids so lights were paramount.
  8. Upgraded the night lighting in the boat and added a stereo. Did the storage as well. Can't stand looking for lures or rods in the dark. Everything can be any color so here the interior ones are in blue.
  9. Sous vide the leftovers. Maybe one of the best uses of a sous vide stick.
  10. Problem with shallow draft boats is that they compromise rough water capability. Sounds to me like you are after two different boats.
  11. Some proof Full RGB, but I like red at night. 3 zones. Speaker, interior and storage can be in unison or separate.
  12. Getting ready for opener. My boat now has tackle and rod storage lights, a stereo, all graphs linked on ethernet and nmea, interior lights, a quick phone mount with waterproof wireless charging, a 4 speaker stereo and a master kill switch. I have a few more projects before opener but going to take a break working on it and do some crappie fishing. I hate pulling wires. A few hundred feet later and I am done.
  13. As Tom implied, I see room for three. Cast accurately and you guys can really work the area.
  14. I'd reject that one for sure. B stock work.
  15. Exactly, look at it as an opportunity to cover all the spots you were going to with two different lures at a higher speed than you can alone. Position the boat to maximize it for both of you....or even better, position it so that your co-angler succeeds first.
  16. Collinite wax although I may ceramic coat the boat here come May. Gets a bass boat saver wipe down the instant she is out of the water.
  17. I lean on the butt seat in the front. Makes it easier for the second angler up front as he knows where I am always. Makes it so 3 can fish up there. Pitching and roll casting off the side is fine for them. Super easy.
  18. I can use the pans...they are mine and retired to oven mass duty. Had replaced them years ago with some thick copper restaurant supply pans I bought in Paris. ...and you reminded me I forgot to feed the starter tonight. Would screw my bread making up for tomorrow. Thanks for bumping the thread
  19. Both stand on the front casting platform.
  20. Thorne Bros is my local go-to for that. They make custom rods and are great at it.
  21. It's a nice day for a maiden voyage!
  22. Lure and presentation dependent, but if you are looking to resolve the 80/20 rule with a choice as others have said it'd be a MH/F rod with a length from 7'-8'. I personally like them on the long end of the spectrum and settled on 7'10" as they are short enough to still fit in 8' rod lockers, but long enough to give you the advantages of a longer stick.
  23. Less leverage but moves line faster and therefore the fish faster.
