  1. Good program. Any old Shimano rods you want to upgrade to the newest model. They’ll sell you a brand new rod for 50% off msrp (will include sales going on at the time too unless that was just pre-Covid) and ship the rod to you. In return you ship the broken or old rod back to them in the same tube with the return postage label included.
  2. Sorry for your lost. 😔 at least they made the attempt to tape up where the bend is. A for effort? 🤷🏻‍♂️
  3. Well I guess I opened a can of something with reviving this thread. Convinced me to just go ahead and order one! Looking forward to trying it out now. 👍🏼
  4. That one seems like a good one too!
  5. You had to bring this up eh? LoL. I was about to pull the trigger on the swamp survivor and jabberwock the other day but talked myself out of it. 🤦🏻‍♂️. I still keep teetering on those 2 models. I haven’t heard bad about them and what I have heard about them is all good. I’ll eventually grab a couple in the spring/early summer before bass opens up here.
  6. How are you liking the reel still? Have you used a tatula 80 to compare it too or a ‘21 zillion?
  7. Oh I saw that it’s the new one. I’m just saying it looks like the old one but has mgl 3
  8. looks the same as the 2019 model I have. 🤷🏻‍♂️
  9. For those that have used both. Is there a big difference with the Legend Elite over the Legend Tournament or is it just very minor?
  10. nice. I look forward to trying it. I have a tatula 80 here I was thinking to use or a couple slx mgl 70s here that I can use. both are 7 speeds. Generally want a slower retrieve reel for jerkbaits? I never really put much efforts into jerkbaits but now that I moved to a new area and new body of water. It seems they are the ticket for smallies here or topwater. was always fishing largemouth and now the smallies took over this area and are pushing them away. Last year I was catching smallies in the swampy areas where I’d expect to catch largemouth punching the grass and what not.
  11. Ha. Funny you should post that rod. I JUST got off the phone with st croix about upgrading my avid x to the legend tournament jerkbait rod. Same model you have. anyone else have any comments on the legend tournament jerkbait rod?
  12. Old post. I know. Raising the dead here. how do you like the Victory jerkbait rod? Or anyone else that has one. Can you chime in? thanks
  13. Oh nice. Good suggestion. I don’t plan on using topwater that sit still. Was thinking poppers and walking baits so good to know fluorocarbon should do well.
  14. I have some 12lbs YZH kickin around here somewhere. I forgot about that. i’ll have to give that a try. Thanks
  15. I gotta ask though. How’d the paint hold up?
  16. I don’t like dc reels. I prefer to use my thumb and the sound just gets old. Dc braking aside. I got the slx dc xt because it looked great on paper. It’s above slx level for sure. I have a couple slx mgl reels and this slx dc xt is nothing like an slx. Different frame. Small and compact.
  17. Decided to dust off the ol’ avid x 66MF and give it a whirl with jerkbaits, poppers, walking baits and small cranks. was going to use fluorocarbon but them topwater lures need to float. What’s a good mono to use or would fluorocarbon be more ideal for jerkbaits and just use topwater on a different rod?
  18. You should check out the slx dc xt. Much better reel. Very comfortable to use and I enjoy using it as much as my zillion sv Gs. It has the MGL 3 spool and idc5 brakes
  19. 16lbs Seaguar R18 fluorocarbon. I just put a strip of tape on the line.
  20. Had this sitting wrapped up since the start of December. Can’t use it for another few months but decided to finally unwrap it to check it out.
