Well here’s an update. I’m not sure what I did to fix it but I fixed the spool. It spins as it should. Casts as it should. And has no tick. Just really really small bends to shape it and it’s back to normal. What a relief. Now I have a finesse special on order as back up lol

Just tracked one down. I’ll have to get it. I managed to get my current spool as round as possible. It work fine now and just has a slight tick but it’s working at the moment.

Airy red? I never look at upgrading spools. But stupid me had the spool roll off the table and it has a little dent I can’t get back into shape so now it just feels rough so looks like I need to upgrade to a spool. Doh!

Looking for spool recommendations for my Daiwa PX Type-R reel. Any suggestions?

What happened to All Star rods?

$50 rapala sync bait casting combo from Canadian tire. Gears were destroyed by a carp days prior. 7.2lbs largemouth caught though.

that 7’1 MH (“the Grunt”) in the Victory line is by far my favourite rod to use since I got it a couple years ago. I think it’s a real stand out in that Victory line up. You wouldn’t be disappointed in it. If I can only take out one rod, it’s this one and I use it for Everything!

agree with this. X9 and x5 are all I use and I’m very happy with how both perform.

So you’d say the Legend Elites are comparable to the NRX+?? I’ve never tried either rod and I really don’t have the urge to even use an NRX or even to hold one in the stores lol I have been thinking about trying a Legend Elite for awhile now. Is there a stand out rod in the LE line up you’d recommend? Casting and spinning. I really only have one spinning rod for myself now. Victory 73MXF but I wouldn’t pass up a chance to try a LE in spinning since I have too many casting rods as is but you never know :).

Just curious why the branching out after 25yrs? Just curious what you’re missing/not missing out on? Have you noticed a decline in SC quality? This isn’t a knock at SC because I have a handful of their rods and really enjoy them and I’m switching over to them more as I continue to purchase more rods. For me I like the warranty, customer service and the quality of product I’ve been getting from them. I know everyone has their differences but I haven’t found a problem in their gear and looking to move up to the legend elite and extreme to try those out. I also feel very confident that if something breaks or isn’t up to par SC will fix that without a doubt and without hassle. My current line up of rods outside of SC I’m not so sure they’ll fix a problem hassle free or at a good value lol

I use the R18 LTD and like it. It’s apparently the same as Tatsu. R18 bass is apparently Invixz unless there is a new line out then disregard this.

Ahhh yeah that makes sense. They should just adopt the same practice as St Croix and a few pics will do it. No shipping. shimano is the same except they’ll send you the rod first and you have to ship it back in the tube within 45 days or they’ll charge you full price for the replacement. Oh well hopefully it was just a dud and the next one is a gem
