  1. Already looked at them for $75 each but the st croix factory store doesn’t ship to Canada. So I have to find them locally here at a discount or something else. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Maybe lll just give the Heavy a try and see what’s what.
  2. Anyone have any experience with the st croix Bass X swimbait rod? Looking to pick one up in the newest model. Plan to throw Gantarel JRs, Vatalions, 6-8” Magdrafts and spro rats. Not sure if I should go with the 3/4 - 3oz model or the 2-5oz model. Any feedback would be appreciated.
  3. Oh yeah. I both rods. Great options. My perfect pitch is always with it. It’s very versatile. Same with the Okuma TCS 7’3 Heavy. I found that to be underrated and extremely versatile for everything. I found it more of a MH+ but it has the backbone when needed to get bass out of thick slop.
  4. I hear you on that. End of last year and over the winter I have picked up a bunch of shorter rods in the 5’10 -6’10 length instead of my usual 7’3-7’5 lengths. So much easier to transport
  5. I’m watching this one to get some feedback. Was looking at the same rod to get my son. I’ll just have to pick it up then and figure it out and let you know
  6. it’s a long road of happiness and misery. Happy you have a zillion but miserable that you need to buy more. I’ve travelled this road. I have 5 zillions now and really it isn’t necessary.
  7. i just got a PX-Type R a few weeks ago. Really looking forward to trying it out What do you use yours for? And what rod?
  8. Owned 2 Tatula LTs (I know, not the MQ) in a 2000 and 2500 size. I no longer have them and now have 4 Stradic FLs. I think daiwa makes the better baitcaster and Shimano the better spinning reel. I never quite enjoyed the daiwa spinning reels I’ve had. Either way I’m sure you’ll be happy with whichever you get. All personal preference.
  9. $333 from Japan and you can keep your pecker…
  10. My “Cadillac” reel is a Steez A2. Is it worth it over a ‘21 Zillion SV? Probably not but I know I won’t buy another reel like that and I’m ok with the Zillion SV being as high as I go. After all I’m ok driving my Mazda 3 (zillion sv is definitely not a Mazda 3) to work and only need my one Cadillac to go from A to B to C.
  11. sorry I meant first impressions out of the box. Curious how they’ll do for a full season. I enjoy the tatula 80. It’s a small tank but I feel this tat 100 will be the best all around reel due to the size. So it closer to the tatula elite/sv 103 frame size?
  12. Didn’t even know Philtrum was a word. Hmmm…. I called in sick today for work because I learned something new today so I don’t need to work. LoL
  13. ordering mine next week. What’s your first impressions? I do have zillions and steez and a tatula 80 to compare too but this tatula has peaked my interest now with the hyper drive. Once you go hyper drive. Nothing else is good enough. LoL
  14. Megabass P5 Destroyer “One Ten Stick”. It’s 6’5”
  15. I will be ordering one shortly to find out. I’ll report when I get it.
  16. really surprised you’ve had bad customer service with st croix. The few times I’ve contacted them for warranty/out of warranty (all my fault) they’ve always been a delight to chat with and always go above and beyond. I’ve always thought st croix should teach companies about customer service. Even calling them to ask questions they’ve been quick to answer and a pleasure to deal with. 🤷🏻‍♂️ anyways I got the jerkbait rod that I’m looking forward to using when the ice melts.
  17. Go for the better deal. You won’t be disappointed either way. Unless your metanium gears get Geary.
  18. definitely worth the $50 price difference. The upgrades are 100% noticeable. You won’t be disappointed when you get one. I don’t think the upgrades from older slx mgl 70 to new one will be as noticeable as one would hope. But I haven’t tried it of course. Just a hunch. Had Shimano released the new slx mgl 70 the same as the slx dc xt minus the dc braking. I’d be all over that.
  19. New to me… picked up this little fella recently
