Which reel should I get?
that’s how I feel with reels I bought before I got my zillion SVs.

what reel would you pick
I have both. I’d go with the steez a2 for chatterbaits. I tried both for that application and both reels I find perform very similar. I just found the steez edges out the zillion hd just by a small margin. Feels better in hand for how I fish chatterbaits. the zillion hd I find excels a lot better in heavy pitching, punching, frogs, swimbaits and the like. I will add that with the steez a2. I wasn’t fond of it when i first got it. It seemed very sub par and I would of been better off getting another zillion hd or zillion sv instead. But I found the more I used the steez a2 the better it became. Maybe it was my reel or maybe not but it really opened up more and more each time I used it and now I find it’s a blast to use as an all around reel. Having said that I probably wouldn’t get another one because I find the ‘21 zillion sv not too far off.

You've never held a rod like this in your hand before
they aren’t as bad as you think. I have a couple panfish series rods as well as bass x rods and the reel seats are fine with me. They do what they’re intended to do and hold my reels in place. I find them comfortable as well. Until you actually fish them then you don’t know. And if you have issues. St croix will help you out. I got my bass x rods just to take out shore fishing and really beat on them. Plus I let my kid use them and if something goes wrong it’s not a big deal. As long as it’s not my higher end rods and regardless these bass x rods have taken a beating with no issues. still haven’t tried the new trigon rods yet though. 🤷🏻♂️

importing a JDM reel from japan to the US
where are you ordering from? I’m in Ontario and the most I’ve paid was $19.87 and that was for a $450 rod. Even on my reels. Zillion SVs and Steez reels I’ve paid no more than $16.42 for duties and customs. edit: I see you’re from Ontario too. You shouldn’t be taxed more than $20 an order. And that’s just paying customs to DHL or Purolator. I’ve made multiple orders over $800. Multiple reels and baits and rods. Never went over $20 customs charge.

Ask me no question and I’ll not tell you a lie.
It would chuck as much wood as a woodchuck could if a woodchuck could chuck wood.

Megabass Destroyer P5 Killer Code
I just got the blade from Japan. $410 shipped to Canada and $18 customs/import fees. They had them on sale locally for Black Friday and I still saved over $150 from sale price. They’re $750-800 in stores here.

Megabass Destroyer P5 Killer Code
Appreciate the feedback. I’m thinking this rod will do what the killer code can do but more. Leaning towards the TB. Of course when I go to other the Killer Code it’s out of stock and then I go order the TB and yup… out of stock. too slow to the draw.

Megabass Destroyer P5 Killer Code
So I’m bringing this to life again… orifinally was torn between 2 models of the p5 jdm rods to try out. The blade and killer code. My gut kept telling me killer code and then I swerved and got the blade. Wrapped under the tree so I can’t say much for it. Still am happy with my choice. Went to order a killer code and it’s gone. Just my luck. So I’m research I’ve stumbled upon the Tequila Baccarac as a rod for pretty much the same purpose but a touch longer. soooooooo…. I plan to use this rod for frogs (larger ones 3/4oz to 1.6oz frogs), swimbaits such as Gantarel jr, vitalions, 6” magdrafts, S-Waver and any other swimbaits in that range. Plus wanted to use some heavier jigs. The killer code goes up to 2oz and the TB goes up to 4oz. now for those using the TB are you happy with your choice and with using it for the above options plus more (anything I forgot to mention using it for) or would the killer code be worth getting still for the above applications? Thoughts please
