  1. Shimano has exceptional warranty. I’ve used them to upgrade rods. I’ve had older models kicking around collecting dust. So I’d call up Shimano and ask them to upgrade. They sell you the newest version or next step up model for 50% off msrp with free shipping and return. They’ll mail the new rod out ASAP and you just return the old rod. ??
  2. I float tube fish all the time. I just use my regular rods id use from the bank or the odd chance I get on a boat. I have 2 rod holders for my float tube and I also picked up rod floats from bass pro. They come in a pack of 3. Just slap them on the rods that aren’t being used so if they fall in they’ll float. When I change setups then I just take a float off and put it on the rod I’m sticking in the holder.
  3. run a mr clean magic erase along the line and it’ll clean it up.
  4. I was just being a butt. I knew what you meant.
  5. Isn’t it usdm uses brass and jdm aluminum? ??‍♂️
  6. Okuma Tournament Concept… don’t worry about the other choices.
  7. I have a couple veritas PLX rods and they’re a great rod for the price point. They’re very enjoyable to fish. I can’t comment on the other rod though. i don’t think you’d be disappointed with the veritas and Abu has a great warranty
  8. I use 12lbs yozuri hybrid on my slx mgl reels and love it! They cast that line like a dream.
  9. You won’t be disappointed if you get one…
  10. Those PLX rods are really nice and a great value for their price range.
  11. My fav frogs are the lunkerhunt compact frogs. They’re just perfect. Until I tried those scum frog launch series. Man are those frogs awesome!
  12. I got the ML spinning model and it fishes great. Plenty of power and sensitivity. Great customer service if any issues at all. The couple times I used abu for customer service it’s been quick and effortless.
  13. I used to have abec 7 bearings in my Okuma Helios and I could launch a frog far with that reel. Scott from spoolspeed sent me a set of bearings for my Helios and they would bomb those frogs and spool me out every time. They ran very fast as well and has to set up my reel all over again. I was satisfied with them though. But as mentioned. A proper maintence on your current bearings will help.
  14. I must have. Same braking system as the stx i believe and I had no issues with that one. ??‍♂️
  15. Ended up settling for a Stradic 1000. ??
  16. I was looking at the Stradic. That’s why I said that. Lol. In Canada the Stradic fl is $300 and the vanford is $340. Not looking to spend that much for mostly sunfish and perch with the occasional bass and pike.
  17. Of course someone had to suggest this one. ??‍♂️. LoL.
  18. Good feedback. Thanks for the reply.
  19. Forgot about that one. I’ll check that out as well. Thanks. Good to hear about the carbon x. I like that it’s so lightweight. Any flexing in the reel? How’s the drag if you hook into something bigger than a sunfish?
  20. So I have a new panfish series rod on the way. Want to pick up a new reel for it. I was looking at a few but looking for some real world experience suggestions. I’ve hooked into larger bass, pike and carp while ultralight fishing so I’d like a reel with a bit of oomph. My current is a sienna fe 1000 and it works great. Just wouldn’t mind trying a step up. I also have a daiwa QG750 reel will be going on a st. Croix 6’9 UL panfish series I have been scoping out the following: Shimano Sedona 1000 Shimano Sahara 1000 daiwa fuego LT 1000 daiwa legalis LT 1000 daiwa revros LT 1000 piscifun carbon x 1000 any recommendations? thanks
  21. Already taken care of. They’ve made it right. ??
  22. Yeah. I’m gonna give Dobyns a call to see what they say. I already have a buddy that wants to buy the premier off me for what I paid. So I won’t be out of pocket.
  23. That’s right. I just like the handle and feel of the panfish rod better as well. Oh well. Live and learn.
