My wife goes along the majority of the time , and when the weather is nice Dad will go. I want someone I love to witness me catching the lake record. Or vice versa. It would almost be better to net ol Bertha for my Dad.

Mix yellow mustard with siracha and slather both sides of the fillet then bread with zatarains and drop them in the oil till they turn gold . It’s muey bueno.

You speak the truth . On my wife’s birthday all she wanted was a mess of bluegill. So she caught 52 and I filleted all of them. I thought my hand was gonna fall off, but luckily it didn’t. I needed my little piggies to devour those succulent mustard fried nuggets.

I am surprised every time someone poops on my suggestion to try bluegill. They always say “ why you eating bait? “. Because my bait is delicious , that’s why.

I use a loop knot for vertical jigging and topwater. It allows free movement. It’s not a super strong knot, so I don’t use it below 6 lb test. I’ve never heard of a snug knot, have to look it up. Most of the time I use a uni knot for terminal and connecting knots. It’s easy and strong.

I have to hide in my “safe room “ after a couple of spicy tacos.

I carry a Leatherman super tool 300. It would work in a pinch , but I’d rather have bolt cutters.

Spinnerbaits were my nemesis for a long time. Now it’s one of my favorite pre spawn baits.
