  1. Pflueger President x2
  2. have a 2006 targa 18 sport. good solid boat but have had to do alot of mods to it to make it functional for me. bought it thinking of dual purpose boat, fishing, boating with kids and family. turns out it wasnt very good fo either, hence the mods to fishing. very stable and roomy. wind plays hell with it though.
  3. cleaning my reels and just realized i dont know how the handle comes off. tried pflueger site with no luck. check the schematic but cant tell. can someone please help? :-/
  4. president. never had a problem with one that wasnt my fault. dicks sportinggoods has a president micro combo on sale for 59$.
  5. in the past, thats a little late for the spawn by 2-3- weeks. never know though. white bass are good then if shad are still up. chrome/blue traps. pummpkin colored are good baits for bass. good luck! i will be there 2nd week in april for anual crappie trip.
  6. on the in-fisherman show (i think) last weekend they did a study over 3 yrs and found that about 70% of bass return to within 300 yrds every spring and fall.
  7. tracker has a lifetime deck warranty. if your having problems, i would check up on it.
  8. does anyone know where to find it? Seen it once. Its comes in a jar and you can mold it around anything and if you snag up, it jerks right off.
  9. where to crawdads go in winter? do they hibernate? WHAT DOES WINTER WATER DO FOR THEM? :-X
  10. by the time we get all the limbs picked from the ice, the fishing will be back to normal around here. depending on which lake your fishing.
  11. I would recomend moving up to the 18'. the storage is much better especially rod storage. you can get a 7' rod in an 18. i have a tracker targa, the boat is built like a tank. only complaint i have is that the quality of the finishing of the interior. nothing major and easily fixed. stupid little thinks like carpet not tight on corners, things mounted crooked. all and all it is a very good boat for the money!
  12. just got back yesterday. fish are pretty active up the rivers. waters a little warmer. getting some rain the last couple days mudding up the rivers. lmb were hanging under and around white base in timber off of main channel. caugt most on crankbait or rattle trap.
  13. i have both and like both. the patriarch is better at throwing a light bait a long distance.
  14. all loaded up. final count; 15 rods, 3 bags. GONE FISHIN INSTEAD OF JUST A WISHIN!
  15. thanks Sam . that sounds like good advice. i forgot to mention that my boy is 27 yrs old, and probably has more stuff and knowledge and i do! just hope he is not as conflicted as me. i do have a six yr old grandson that your advice will work well with.
  16. heading to tablerock tommorrow for me and my boys annual crappie trip. was getting things together today and found that i had 13 rods and 2full tackle bags. i belive in being prepaired but this seems a little much. anyone else have a problem with concentrating on one specific type of fishing and just gearing up for that?
  17. the easist way to tell a kentucy/spotted bass is to feel the tounge. if it has a rough patch, its a kentucky. if its smooth its a lm.
  18. I use both l & r bait casters. i never figured it out either why most all spinners are left handed and bc's are right. my fishin buddy gives me grief all the time about my lh's, says he cant use them but he throws a left handed spinner alot.
  19. have that exact motor. Do yourself a favor and DONT BUY IT! I HATE the electric steering. The only thing about it that might be good is the autopilot. I have the CoPilot for it but only because the foot pedal sucks so bad. Its terrible to drive I regret it all the time. Its got alot of power and its quiet... Until you turn, and then your cover is blown. Its loud and rough. Do yourself a serious favor and stick with a cable steer model. Oh did I mention what a pain it is to stow and deploy? I have to use my foot and kick it loose because it seats into the mount so tight. x2
  20. i got old eyes too. my arms aint long enough anymore to see to tie. i have got a good set of polarized sunglasses i have had for years that i love. i just went to wallgreens and got those plastic strips they sell in diferent strengths and put them at the very bottom inside on the lenses. works like bi-focal and i can see to tie knots. works great and cost about three dollars.
  21. so you have to retie your hook to change bait?
  22. How do you rig them without the weight wollaring out the nose of the bait?
