  1. The hot dog and kool aid works believe it or not. I tried it in the river last month and I couldn't keep my lines in the water. It is hard to keep drum off them though
  2. Online they probably are. I know at Dick's they have definetley gone up a lot. Walmart I believe has stayed the same. I've never had a problem with Zoom being unusable (they aren't the best by any means but they have worked fine for me). It's all about personal preference though.
  3. The best kind of fishing there is!
  4. What they said
  5. What a fish for twelve pound mono!
  6. What he said
  7. The rain has been avoiding my town this year. It'll rain in the next city or town over but will completely miss us (we have gotten some rain in the past week but not much). As a result our creek water levels have dropped significantly. The fishing has stunk this year in those bodies of water, all I catch are dinks. It seems like low water makes the big fish inactive. I don't know anything about smallmouth migration, but I'm sure the smallmouth have boogied out of there for the river if I had to guess. You aren't the only one my man. This year, I've ditched the creeks for ponds which I have had pretty good success with.
  8. Welcome!
  9. My Nana who lives in Ohio has managed to catch like three combos in the past five years while catfishing. I don't know how she does it, but I wish she would teach me.
  10. What he said. Also if the whopper plopper is working in open water then I would stick with that.
  11. Happy B-day!
  12. I don't know what kind of cover is in there besides the pads you mentioned, but I would go with a white moving bait of some sort. Also a good option
  13. I would never gamble. I'm not necessarily against it in moderation, but I'm just too much of a pansy to put my money on the line. When I'm fishing with family, whoever is the last one to catch a fish buys lunch.
  14. Instantly as in as soon as I noticed the line jump or right after I felt a thump. It's almost humanly impossible to set the hook instantly instantly Lol.
  15. I'm not a huge fan of ned rigs, but I've never heard of fish swallowing the hook being a problem. The only thing I've had fish swallow is a Berkley Power Worm. Even when I would set the hook in a timely fashion they would swallow it instantly. It only happened at one pond though so it may have just been those bass.
  16. Same for me. I rarely have that much success on cranks during summer anyway
  17. Welcome Scott!
  18. Trash can in the shed
  19. The t-rigged one will have a slower fall
  20. Creature bait Crankbait Spinnerbait Stickbait PLastic craw
