  1. I wouldn’t go after the big fish bite first. Get a bag limit then worry about big ones. If it’s combined inches of all fish I’d just try to catch as many legal fish as you could. You could also go to the breaks after you get your limit to try and find some bigger ones. @papajoe222 pretty much nailed it.
  2. I know the susky between October and around March its walleye time. After that they are non existent. It could be the same for the Delaware but, I am unsure.
  3. I feel this. My dog is scared/anger/crazy over most things. Mainly loud noises and animals.
  4. This sounds like my normal trip. Just minus the fish. Glad you had a productive day!
  5. I try to pick an area apart. A little bit if I catch some fish. Then it’s on to the next. It’s often on the susky you can think the area has died out then switch up and get 2-4 more.
  6. Today out on the susky I was fishing with about a foot less of water than the previous day. I didn’t have quite as much action but, I did have more “bigger” fish. Again nothing huge. Just s good fun day. The fish seemed to want a slower fall they were keyed into Ned’s. I went to a lighter head as the day went on. The cat must have been out of the bag. 5 boats were up in that area today. Love the red eyes on these fish.
  7. I was wondering if any of you have what I like to call is a clean up bait. I tend to throw fast moving baits first. If I catch 4-5 then it seems like they aren’t eating that or got wise to it, I switch to something else. Usually some form of jig or slower moving bait to try. This in hopes to get a few more fish out of that particular area. Does anyone else do this or do they move to another area with what was working? If so what bait do you generally put on as your clean up?
  8. Nothing forces you to use either one. I use both but, I do prefer spinning for most applications. If you aren’t comfortable you won’t catch fish.
  9. Thank you sir!
  10. My dad and I went out on the susky today. It was around 7ft on the local gauge which is on the higher side of things. It was coming down from around 11. We caught around 25 each. Nothing notable in size. Just a fun outing with good weather. It was a steady bite on a variety of baits. Neds, T rigged worms and cranks. The water had around 8” of visibly. Temps between 55 and 58 before we got off the water.
  11. There is a guy who fishes my stretch of river we talk here and there but, he’s very well known in the area. Fishes almost every day and is very good. He has a red boat and so do I. One day I was in the parking lot and a guy came up to me and said oh I guess I can’t follow the red boat around. I said why would you want to follow me? He goes oh the tackle shop told me to follow the red boat around down here. I always joke with my dad that fishing is monkey see monkey do. If we spent time in an area and left the boat across the way is going to come right over after we leave. Jokes on them. Most the time we don’t catch anything.
  12. Right or wrong I cuss like a drunken sailor unless I am in a professional setting. I’ve always wondered how you can use a word and the synonym of that word could be completely wrong or offensive. Obviously, degrading slang words are something different. I am purely going on if you would go along the lines of screw this over f word this. Maybe I am just less intelligent to know any better.
  13. I’m interested to see if the panthers can keep winning or the leafs will win the series.
  14. They are in stock online. Doesn’t mean they have them at one singular store. They probably get drop shipped from all over. Some items ship directly from the manufacture too. Tackle warehouse only has two locations. They ship from both.
  15. 50plus are 1.3% of all musky caught according to Muskies inc. I played the game for a long time. I know the drill. It was more of a joke about fish stories. Well the last I looked it was 1.3%
  16. They are just miss understood! Ironically I’m still waiting for all these accidental 50” musky while bass fishing. I’ve hooked up with three bass fishing in the areas I did for musky where I’ve caught lots of them. None of them were 50”.
  17. I can’t say bass have ever really done that for me. I’ve had fun but, the knee shaking hand shaking adrenaline comes from big musky. Bass are the enjoyment of fishing. Now I may not have just caught a big enough bass lol.
  18. I have enough pressure in my life. Fishing needs to be the release. Not more of a cause. It doesn’t matter how good I am at fishing or not.
  19. What is a bass? Having withdraws here. I like to call these “real life” fishing reports. It’s always easy to brag about big bags or numbers. It’s hard to admit the tough days and defeat. It seems the struggle has been real for most of us above the mason dixon line. I am trying to post my outings I catch fish. Wether it’s one or 100. I don’t make a living doing this. It’s a hobby. The last 6 or so years I’ve taken fishing way to serious. This year is all about enjoying it. So when anyone reads my reports and goes that’s it? Just know I had a blast doing it!
  20. Yes sir. Probably will be prime for quite a few days. I’ve caught many bank fish using the feeder creek. You’d be surprised at how little the creek can be and what it holds. I’ve pulled big fish of other species in a feeder I could cast over no issue.
  21. I’ve noticed here that if the fish have moved into those areas they tend to have the feed bags on because of how much effort it took to get there. Generally we have a much faster rise.
  22. I do not know your area. have you considered when the water starts receding using the river to get into some of the feeder creeks? When those creeks slow down and start pushing clear water. The river back feeds in and creates eddies. I use the river as a highway to get to these creeks. I don’t technically fish the river.
  23. Well depending how my hand feels. ( I had an accident at work today) I will be out on the susky this weekend. I will go out between 3.2 and 10’ on the Harrisburg gauge. If everything goes as planned I should be hitting the high water susky at the perfect time.
  24. I use those exact things on spinning or casting. I prefer using certain things more on casting or spinning. I will never limit myself to one or the other though.
  25. She had a great life with you and your family. I’m sorry for your loss.
