  1. I do not know if it’s because the water has been lower this early spring but, generally they are pushed up more into the creek mouths and flats this time of year. We seem to be a tad behind if that is the case.
  2. I was on the susky yesterday. The day was beautiful. The river level was about 6ft on one of the gauges. Water had a slight stain. The fish seemed to be holding right out side the current breaks in 6’ of water. A little deeper than I thought. I also thought they would be more up in the slack shallow pools. It was a slow bite. Caught one right off the bat on a DT4 then switched up to drop shotting and ned rigging. Managed a few more through out the day. This was about the average size of them.
  3. Generally, people only add them to poorly balanced jet boats. Jets don’t have the bite like a prop does to plane out so balance is key. They also help with the boats rear squatting while fishing. It should let you draft a little lighter. You may also lose some Mph with the added drag.
  4. He’s just a big baby.
  5. I don’t doubt that one bit. When you are in the no wake zone it’s 100% disgusting. I’m on the susky 90% of the time. No bloom just raw sewage.
  6. Yeah it def is a bloom. We get it here on a few lakes.
  7. I know some guides run the peddle to the back of their boat. I haven’t been in the back of the boat in a long time. I don’t mind doing it. It can be a nice change of pace. I do however keep my mouth shut if I don’t like how they are fishing or positioning. Sometimes it’s nice to play “clean up” from the back of the boat though. I do try to give my co angler which is usually my dad the best chance at fish. I feel like I’m repaying him for things he’s done for me over the years.
  8. Like I tell everyone. The post season is where it matters the most. It’s great having a season like the bruins but, they need the icing on the cake with the cup!
  9. With a handful of games left who is your pick to win the cup? I think it goes without much surprise I am going with the Bruins.
  10. I do not generally match the hatch. I fish blue marsh here and there. I generally just use what I would anywhere else. It gets a nasty green color in summer. I’d stick with chrome silvers and whites. To match the coloration of them.
  11. I have learned a lot in my short time here
  12. Been social media free for 3 years. It’s a great feeling honestly. This forum which I joined over winter is as close as I get to it.
  13. Excuse my ignorance I am just throwing this out there. couldn’t you just use a stud finder like you do on a wall? I don’t know I am just asking. Seems like there’s a lot of work if you could be able to just do that.
  14. Sub surface walk the dog so like a spook.
  15. I prefer the 6” over any of them and run it on 65# braid and a steel leader no swivel I on the surgical stroke assault stick. I think that’s their light one.
  16. 6” phantoms are solid and should be light enough. If not go with the 4”. A suick is also a good light bait to use. I prefer the hi impact ones over the wood. They don’t look like much but, they just work.
  17. WTD top waters are spooks soft jerk baits are flukes worms are senkos It’s fairly common to references them as these it’s almost a “style” rather then a brand. Even though we all know it’s a brand it doesn’t have to be the specific one.
  18. Congrats buddy! Wish you the best. I recently just visited a company for my current employer. After being there it made me realize how much I miss that work environment. I love my job. I love I’m not under the welding hood 8-10 hours a day. I do miss the pure fabrication aspect of things. Which where I currently am at is not present.
  19. Nothing has worked for me yet. The conditions have not been favorable. I’m just making excuses though.
  20. I went to YouTube university for lots of things. I’m like Chuck Norris I tell the fish what they aren’t going to eat. I think they get on a hot bite on their home body do water and share it. It might be what works on perfect conditions. Honestly no matter how you slice it these guys are salesmen. Sell their page, sponsor product, image. You don’t have to be a top tier tournament fishermen to provide great content. Time management and a bad day in a tournament are the biggies. You can’t have a bad day you have to put them all together. That over 3-5 days is tough. Think of how we experience weather. They are fishing through it.
  21. For the river it’s mainly for safety and water temp. I do use it to find some pockets but, I don’t use it to actively target fish. I am generally watching the river and the current to fish. I need to know if I have enough depth of water to get up on plane. I need about 1.5ft for about a 15 yard stretch to get up on plane. I prefer to start off in about 2ft. Coming off plane isn’t as big of an issue but, I still need to watch out.
  22. If you take any Shad style crank bait don’t they pretty much all look similar? Spinner baits? Dare I say any kind of stick bait? How many of them are there? How do you not copy someone else but, offer this or that style of bait?
  23. Is that a mali? Do it! My dog is a spaz but does very good in the boat. He’s also my your fishing to close to me alarm.
  24. I have used cortland master braid 80lb and suffix 832 80lb for musky. I know it isn’t 10lb but, I think the cortland cast smoother and is a lot softer and flexible then the 832. As far as strength I’d say master braid is slightly stronger. I have no classroom evidence of this though. personally for bass I run 832 10lb or higher. I wouldn’t really consider changing either.
