  1. Credit cards are the worst way to pay off things. I use mine and pay it off every month. I can’t see spending 18k for a bost you really don’t want. You could spend 1500-2000 to get out on the water in a boat. if you can save up that amount. You also wouldn’t lose much on resale. Then pay off your student loans. Have at the ranger after that. I went from a canoe with a trolling motor to a tracker 160 with a 20hp then put a 60/40 jet on it. The end of this year I hope to be in an 18’ G3 tunnel. That will hopefully be my “forever” boat.
  2. I second this
  3. I carry way too much terminal tackle. I never want to run out if i get into a snag fest. I’d rather run heavier and have what I need then not. Personally, I’d rather lose another 20lbs off my body then take out fishing gear. I don’t see that happening though either.
  4. I would consider a ST. Croix premier med light . You will be able to feel the smallies pick the baits up right off the bottom with it.
  5. I don’t always weld. Today I suited up as a fill in. A vertical down 3 pass Lap joint. By no means a hard weld to do.
  6. The work is stupid easy. You’re just expected to work. That’s the issue.
  7. I work for a company of about 400 people at my plant. Our retention rate is around 12%. The people that do stay are generally lazy but, use the excuse “if I made more money”. I point blank tell them there are jobs that pay better. Also the excuse of if I made more money I’d worked harder is a lie. You work hard or you don’t.
  8. Honestly from what I remember that was the original intent of livescope was for ice fishing wasn’t it?
  9. I know some states are way cutting back on their panfish harvest limits since FFS.
  10. What’s this ice you talk about? We have been lucky here this year with that. I will start with a Ned rig though.
  11. You can if it’s a trout approved water open to year round fishing. Just cannot kill or keep trout Interestingly enough you cannot fish a creek or stream that is a trout water without a trout stamp but, a lake you can fish without one. Just cannot kill or keep.
  12. Generally in the river here if you can site fish them they are not going to be interested. It is to hard to sneak up on them in the shallows.
  13. I had 50lb on a bait caster and did not like it. I also did not like the way it affected the action of the baits. I like to run around 20#. This is just my preference. I’m a weekend warrior river rat. Not a pro. So I do what feels “right”
  14. Welcome! I do love fishing in WV. Beautiful state.
  15. As much as I am against it. It’s not unfair if everyone on the pro tour is using it. I really could care less what those guys do. I will never fish those waters and I will never fish against them in a competitive way. I do see how it has effected small lakes here. It has changed. There is no where for these fish to go anymore to avoid pressure. I’ve also saw some of the kayak rigs these guys fish on. 2-3 graphs up front you know one is FFS. So that is not as grass roots as some think it is. it is awesome technology. I just think eventually it will bite the fishing community in the ass. Besides the good ol days of fighting a snag are going to be gone ? the line snapping on “the biggest fish I never saw “ stories will be gone too
  16. I can afford it. I am against it. I highly doubt 80% of people are against it. I would be willing to bet 80% of people are for it not against it. Most people want tools to make what they are doing easier. That’s what livescope is. I think it is a clear advantage most of the time over someone who doesn’t have it. Pressured fish move and get harder to catch. That’s what I feel is the biggest down fall to this.
  17. Yeah, you aren’t kidding here. I watched a dude make a complete joke out of an extremely hard lake for musky with this tech. You don’t need to know how to fish you just need to know how to read a screen and keep on fish. It was pretty much point blank said in that article.
  18. I and most people around here use primarily spinning gear. I do have some casting gear and use it. I do not see that changing anytime soon.
  19. I have guns I haven’t shot in awhile. I have probably $10,000 worth of musky gear I am not going to use much of anymore. I didn’t use my snowblower this year! Generally everything I buy get used though.
  20. I love my tranx 150. I had an Abu stx before that. Wasn’t bad but felt a lot more finicky than the tranx.
  21. From what I noticed is LMB seem to really like a slightly longer pause. Than a smallie would. Again that could be various other reasons but, just want I have seem to notice.
  22. Black chrome choppo
  23. Winter is terrible here. Water temps in the low 30s. Ice floating or forming in slack water. The fish just do not seem to want to eat generally. Now the 48-50 degree mark and warming seems to be the ticket when activity starts going. Summer can be hard here depending on water conditions.
  24. I would think it would be a mod v I know the my tracker 160 is and that’s it’s pretty much the same design as the grizzly 16’. Which I am sure the 17ft follows right in suit. I have a rough ride as well. Even rougher with my jet than when I had a prop. It’s just the nature of the aluminum boat world.
  25. You don’t happen to have a jet on it do you? if so jets drive forward and pretty much plow into everything. You also can’t really trim them out either.
