Fuel stabilizer
Just curious as what do they do for winterization ?? Let it drain all the water out, drain the carbs, unhook the fuel hose, change the lower unit oil, mabey add some cylinder lube. Have always done my own and wondered if I am missing something ??

share your kayak anchor trolley rigs
When I had my kayak I made my own out of bungee cording, worked great.. Where there were serious stress points, I used machine screws with nuts on the inside, for those with no acess to the inner walls, there are things like " well nuts" that do a great job of holding in blind holes. Mine was used in inland lakes, ponds and secluded waterways, if I were in the ocean, mabey a better unit ...

Fuel stabilizer
Be picky where you buy your fuel !!! Never buy fuel when the big tanker is filling the underground tanks !! This stirs up any crap left in the tank so it will get into yours. Buy from a station that is busy so there fuel is always fresh !! I add a small amount of sea foam with each fill, just in case I pickup some poor fuel...at the end of the season I add a good dose of stabil marine to the tank of my boat and all my toys !! This protects them in the offseason. No need to go hog wild on additives if you use good fresh fuel !! Neighbor does the same on his 20 old vehicles and has no issues.. My side by side is a 2015 model, has used E10 all these years, plugs look like new ones, filters all clean never an issue in its life. With wifes dissability it hasn't been used much in the past 2 1/2 years, but if Ibturn the key right now, it will turn over mabey once then purr like a kitten. My boat was the same way after 5 months of winter napping in my barn !!! Be very carefull what fuel you use to begin with !!

Boat trailer guides
Great story....my daughter taught ger first husband how to drive a stick shift...and backup a trailer....probably why they split up...

Fuel stabilizer
Been using E10 since it came out with O issues. Neighbor has about 20 old cars ( 50's -70's) and runs E10 for years with O issues !! Non E fuel leaves a residue that alcohol dissolves and creates a mess this is where the issues are created.. Use a stabilizer as recomended and you will be fine !! Besides that...stabilizer is far less expensive than paying an extra .50 a gallon for non E fuel !!!

Running 87 Octane in my Mercury 4 Stroke
Use what the mfgr recomends, they know best !!! The E10 fuel dilemmas are self served, gotta have something to blame poor maintenence on !! Been using it since it came out in all my toys, not one single issue !! I do use fuel stabilizer as recomended, especially for storage over 60 days. Yourvengine is set up to burn 87 octane, going higher in octane makes fuel burn more slowly, so you can loose performance by going higher, numerous studies have shown this to be true. My neighbor is an old car guy, probably has about 20 plus old cars from 50's and up. He uses E10 in all if them with O issues, but...he has upgraded all the fuel lines and stuff to be E10 compatible. He adds a few oz of stabilizer into his fuel, his car's sit for often over a year with O issues except the batteries !! The alcohol is a cleaner, when regular fuel is used, it leaves a residue, when you switch to E10, it cleans all that gunk out and causes issues !! Clean your fuel system before going to E10 and you would be fine....again numerous articles were written about preparing your vehicle for E10 when it came out, but no one paid any attention to them, so....they had issues !! Use what the mfgr recomends andvyou will get the best performance from your motor !!! Yes...do add a little stabilizer when you fill your tank and all will be good !!!

Boat trailer guides
I like all these stories from folks telling how they found ways to help them backup !!! They are all good...you have to find out what works for you !!! Try other folks ideas....but in the end, you gotta do what works for you !! Then practice what you learned !!! When my three kids got their drivers licenses, I made them learn to back up a trailer and drive a stick shift transmission as part of their requirements to get there licenses. Youngest is now 43.... All, including my daughter are excellent drivers and have no fear with a stick or a trailer !!

Boat trailer guides
Mine are similiar but a little longer...I added a piece of 2" pvc pipe to the rear support with a couple of U bolts to create a visual aid. Works great !!

Boat trailer guides
I went to work at a marina at age 13, part of my job was to help with the boat launch... I got one dollar for each boat launched. I soon realized that folks that didn't kniw how to back up were costing me money !! We had an old jeep sitting in the weeds, I got it running and put a hitch vall on front and back !! Now I could take two boats to the ramp at the same time. I learned to backup using mirrors only, in that time I was launching at least 4 boats an hour and usually more if the owners had everything ready !! That was actime when wages were 1.25/1.50 per hour !! I was making big bucks then !! 70 years later, I am still teaching people how to backup their trailers with mirrors. My barn is over 300 ft from the road and has a couple serious curves along the way, I backup the entire way and thru the curves in one run using mirrors. My neighbor was impressed so I taught him how to use mirrors as his barn is the same 300 ft back like mine, but he was taking a long time starting and stopping to get back there. But he was looking backwards....watch commercial truck drivers, they don't turn around....take some time to learn those mirrors, you will make far fewer mistakes and do overs with mirrors once you learn !! Remember the key to sucessfull backing up....slow speed/ fast steering wheel....most folks do the opposite !!

The new kayak mover!
Be sure to add lights to that extension....most states require anything sticking out 18" or more need lights !!

Help me troubleshoot my Merc 20hp 2 stroke
Use an actual factory rebuild kit for your carb !! They have all new gaskets, needles, seats etc, plus they will tell you howvto set up the carb for proper operation !! Just cleaning rarely works well. Also check you hose from the tank and the fittings as they do wear out and need replaced every so often. From your description you need a real rebuild kit for that carb to do it right !!

Boat trailer guides
If your traiker has a short tongue, they are a ***** to back up, especially if you have a long wheelbase truck! To make things easier, add a longer tongue to your trailer and make the job much easier !! I went from a ling pickup to s short SUV and backing up became a breeze!!

Keeping boat seats like new?
I use D&L hand cleaner with lanoline, best thing ever to clean dirt, grease and stains...the lanoline keeps the vinyl soft and supple so it doesn't crack. Lots of newer products out there that are supposed to be good, but the D&L has worked for me for 40 years. Lots of old car guys use this stuff, especially on old vinyl roofs on old cars.

Boat trailer guides
I have the side guides to make centering the boat a breeze, never need to back in to straighten it out !!! To the side guides I added a piece of 2" dia pvc pipe with a couple U bolts...now I can see them andbusevthem as a visual when backing up !! Actually you need both side guides and a white pole to see !!!

Best kayak rack for an 02 mustang.
For a nice Mustang ??? That would be a trailer !!

Electronics cover
Yep...that is what I use !! Gotta use freezer ones though, the std bags are way to flimsey....

Boat trailer guides
The pvc poles are a great visual aid, but the actual side guides work much better for loading your boat !! My side guides are made from a piece of 2x4 about 3' long, with brackets attached to the trailer frame. It was a kit that was factory made. All my past trailers have had them, wouldn't be without !!!

Trolling motor prop not turning
Wrong prop or missing some washers ?? Is it a factory prop for that motor ?
-
Peahole
That telltale hose can get clogged from wasps, debris most anything. Find a long skinny wire, or something to check that there is no blockage. Sometimes you need to up the rpm a little to get the water flowing, if no pee after 5 minutes on a cold engine then look at the pump impellor.

Brought my new Phoenix home today!
Man that outboard looks hugh !! It should fly !!
-
Trolling motor prop not turning
Take the prop off and see if the shaft turns...if it does, then prop is on wrong...if the prop shaft does not turn then you have an internal problem.

Introduction to Bass boats
That is where we were, saved up for retirement and enjoyed the motorhome for the first year and a half. First I had a heart attack and a triple bypass, the following year she started her health issues. Yes, all toys are expensive !! No way around it, but you do need to "make" time for life's pleasures before there is no time left!!

Best way too???
That also works !!
