  1. I researched my recipient... I found some sweet deals and the order is placed. Merry Christmas everyone!
  2. I agree, chopping wood is fun and therapeutic.
  3. I wasn't aware of that one. I bet it'd work for the big'erns.
  4. Thank you very much @BigAngus752 --------- I also dabble in woodworking. I do it for a living, working for a company making school furniture. I enjoy making my own things. I also dabble in knife refurbishing. I rehafted this one for a gent on another forum. Along with knife work, I do a bit of leatherwork too. Combine knives and woodworking and you have whittling.
  5. Thanks Glenn. It's funny you said except minnow baits. I heard somewhere that a fluke does well on one. Hmmm. I can't remember where. I am pretty sure it was one of the videos I've watched recently.
  6. I didn't get a name yet.
  7. I appreciate all the replies. I haven't a clue as to how to properly shake a worm, nor a texas rig. I would like very much to hear how everyone does. And if anyone knows of a video showing the correct motion, I'd appreciate you sharing.
  8. I'm learning the shaky head. I saw a Tom Redington video podcast the other day that had a guest, I forget who, that basically said that shaky heads aren't really popular anymore. It does seem that it either flies under most folks radar, or they have moved on to a drop shot, or just do a ned rig. So how popular is the shaky head?
  9. @Bass Rutten I am happy with anything. I am happy with any time as well, mid day, evening, night is better for me, since I'm not up early most days. I do well when I'm fresh in the morning though if I am up. I mostly play bullet when I'm waiting on the wife while she's shopping. I play daily with several friends. I haven't played in a few months... but I'm still sharp as a tack lol!
  10. Interesting thread. I found a Digger 6.5 in the lake, it'd been there so long the hooks had disintegrated. The paint was off so much I couldn't read anything but "gger 6.5", which was enough for me to figure it out. I'll re-hook at and use it. Guess I'll see how long the bill lasts.
  11. I bought a used Diawa CR80, and I need a 421-5020 HANDLE LOCK PLATE and 120-2020 screw. What's a good source for the lock plate? I could probably scrounge a screw if I could just get a lock plate.
  12. Guns, reloading, cast bullets, knives, and yes... chess. I am Bazoo_II on chess.com, if you'd like to challenge me. I also dabble in photography. Here are some of my favorite photographs from my hobbies.
  13. I've been using the H20X flat sided squarebill. It's similar to the Fritside 5, which I haven't tried yet. Can anyone comment on either? Anyone like the H20X? What other flat sided crankbaits should I be looking at?
  14. I'd go back to my childhood, and I'd strive to become a pro. I wouldn't let the passion fade. I would spend every evening at the fishing hole I had, honing my techniques.
  15. Don't plan to resell them. Or... buy used to begin with.
  16. What is JDM reels/go JDM?
  17. Thank you for sharing. Glad you were able to get out one last time. I hope you do have a few more trips together.
  18. My main goal is to get my boat straightened out and then fish from it, beginning to learn how to fish from a boat. Boat or otherwise, I want to check out at least 1 new place. Probably Rough River lake. Figuring out where shore access is though is difficult and I don't know where to start. Lure wise, I want to continue to refine the techniques I have been working on. Probably drop shot and shaky head would be the ones I want to work on. But the one I really want to figure out is boottail swimbaits. I've only caught a handful of fish on those. I would like to make some friends to go fishing with. I have a couple, but we rarely go fishing together.

I have 2 Rebel craw cranks. One I was blessed with, and another I was blessed to find. I've caught some fish on both. Not a huge amount because I don't fish them that much. I've always felt they were cheap lures and not paid much attention to them. Anyone here love them? Anyone know of any pros that actually use them?
  20. Howdy from Kentucky.
  21. Thanks for all the tips.
  22. I've been wanting to try the lindy no snag sinker for carolina riggin' in rough stuff. Anyone here ever try it?
  23. What the heck, I'm in.
  24. I generally use a 1/4 or 1/2 ounce weight. Though I have used 3/4 ounce when I wanted to get a little deeper on a few points I fish.
  25. I use a split shot rig some myself. But I am exploring traditional Carolina rigs, though from shore since I'm bank bound currently.
