Wow....that fish is shaped like one of Fish Chris'. It does look like a monster. It wouldn't even be a sharelunker in TX.

I don't know who to go with the typical young guy. Or the typical old guy who doesn't want to try anything new . Bottom line is that all the rods mentioned are great. However, I don't think any of the ones mentioned are cheaper than the carrot stick. Also i'm still waiting for a post from someone that says they have fished a carrot stick and hated it.

I would go with the 150.00 medium heavy stick. I haven't fished the Boyd Duckett series, but it seems that a lot of the 100.00 is just in the butt cap. I have the 150.00 stick and haven't heard anything negative from someone that has actually fished one. In fact RedlineRobert thinks it is tough enough to take peacock bass fishing. So I don't see why it couldn't handle Fork. I also have a St. Croix legend tournament series that others have suggested and honestly prefer the carrot stick. Especially, for t-rigs. The negative press i've heard about the reel seats have been fixed imo. I had no trouble at all getting my Curado to tighted on it the first time. Hope this helps. Oh yeah, it might not matter to you but this rod is LIGHT.

To me a week is a little unrealistic. What if your not fishing the weekend you get it or weather. I think two weeks tops is fine. If you haven't fished in that time you just have to send it on. Plus, in the event someone recieved it on friday and fished it Saturday they might only have it 2-3 days. When shipping and 12,000 members are involved you can't hit all them in a year. No need to limit this little project to a year before we even get started.

I hate the welcome forum idea. I think a lot of new people would skip it. Plus, I think the ones that did post in it would recieve a lot less welcomes than they get in the general section. I honestly don't know how many times a week/day I would check the welcome board, but as it is now i hit the general forum everytime i'm on, and always try to greet the new guys. I remember how excited I was to check all my welcome posts not that long ago. I have a lot more patience for so many moved threads after hearing LBH's explanation. I've always believed that the newer guys should be cut a break. Didn't realize the moved threads I see were all 10 post or less.

I love it and DVR it as well. I'm always amazed at how smart and how everthing comes so instinctual to these pilots.

I recieved the lure on Thursday. I was planning on keeping the lure for two weekends so I could have a shot with it at Fork, but if everyone agrees that it should be 1 weekend i'll take it to a little pond and send it on. BTW, my weekends are Tuesday Wednesday. I work Saturday and Sunday.

I don't have any trouble either, but I stick with 15lb.

The threads that go on forever don't bother me so much. It does get a little annoying when there are a bunch of move threads like there is now.

I don't think it matters at all to the fish. B/C i'm a weirdo I only fish green though. Its a confidence thing for me which helps me catch more fish.

green pumpkin ***. That would be pretty boring though. Not sure how long I could stick with fishing.
