Trolling motor poundage vs speed.
I am looking at purchasing a transom mount Minn Kota for my 14' aluminum v-hull. I have a powerdrive 40lb on that front and an old 28lb motorguide on the back. With both wide open I clock at 3.7 MPH via GPS. Will upgrading to a 50 in the back get me more speed or just more thrust to help with wind, current, etc. I really don't want to spend the money on a big motor in the back and will just buy a 30lb if the 50lb won't move me faster. Thanks, Andy

14ft Aluminum V-Hull
http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1183418037/30 Here is a link to my14' boat. It has a floor just a couple inches beneath the seat height and is perfectly stable for 2 people to stand up at once. I can even stand all the way in the front on my front hatch with no issues.

baitcaster and rod on budget
How about a Browning Silaflex for $35 and a BPS Fritts baitcaster for $79. This was recommended to me by five.bass.limit as great crankbait setup. I plan on picking up the same setup sometime this year.

Who is going to Longhorns tonite?
Which BR members are going to be at Longhorns tonight? Since Glenn and 5bass might be late and those are the only guys that I have seen in person everyone needs a way to recognize who is there for BR. Maybe post what you are wearing, etc. I myself will have a black and orange Bomber hat on. Andy

Fixing Leaky rivets
As someone who shoots rivets for a living I would suggest only reworking the leaky rivets on your boat. 2 hammers will do the trick without buying special tools. Once you go and start smacking every rivet on the boat you are likely to cause more leaks and not to mention dents in the boat of you are not careful.

Competitive Shimano Prices
I thought personal attacks were against to terms of this forum. I have not read the rebate form but this is a direct quote from Shimano Rep Bantam1 on another well known forum posted on Nov 29, 2007 which is where my info comes from. "If you want to get the rebate then yes. We will require proof of purchase for you to obtain the rebate. The receipt must show that you paid MSRP to receive the rebate. This starts December 1st. Any purchases made prior to December 1st will not be allowed to receive the rebate."

Xpress H2O lures....WOOOOW!!!!
What is the verdict on how they fish? I only have a few cranks and plan on buying more to learn how to crank. Is it worthwhile to spend $3.50 on these vs buying bombers or Bandits for $5.

It is Mil-spec aviation polyurethane gray with an epoxy zinc chromate primer.

Jig paint problem
I think you might be preheating the jighead too hot and leaving it in the powder too long. I had the same problem my first couple batches with the majority of the problem being preheated too hot.

Bassmasters Classic
Maybe some of us could meet up and get some wings and a beer or something like that. Does anyone know what the requirements for getting a boat on Hartwell during the classic? I might be able to get access to a skeeter that weekend. Andy

I just received my first order from fishingskirts.com and realized that I didn't order any red for some accents. Are there any companies that you guys know about that will send me 2 or 3 red silicone tabs as samples? Andy

p-line evolution
I was very happy with 12lb evolution until I figured out I could get 2x the amount of Yo-Zuri Hybrid for 2 more dollars. The silver can be a little hard to see sometimes. Andy

Revo SX, removing anti reverse bearing
I don't think that I did because now it has a little slip to it if you put backwards pressure on it.I used reel butter grease on it. I have a feeling that I over greased it. Can you offer any advice on websites to do a little researching or give me any tips

new Revo SX for $85
I am so happy I just had to share the deal I got today. I went to Academy to by a TD-A 153HSTA but got more horrible customer service and an out of stock reel so I went to Dicks and saw a Revo SX for $149 plus I had a $10 coupon. They were out of stock. The saleman offered me 15% of $129 for the display. I said yes and he then could not find the box so he said $100 even. I was in shock at this point. He slapped a sticker on the real seat and at the checkout it rang up as $89 on sale. I said it was supposed to be $99.99 but the clerk could really care less. With the coupon I walked out the door on a new Revo SX for $85. It feels awesome on the new Avid. Sorry for the long post. Andy

Trying to assemble a good baitcasting setup...
http://www.reedssports.com/Product/product.taf?_function=detail&_ID=669 $136 for an AVID is a good deal. I picked up the same rod when they were $102 and I absolutely love it. If I had to pay retail I would probably go with a 7ft MHF crucial or avid.
