  1. Take it to Formula Propeller in Rogers,MN if you want to go with a local outfit for repair.
  2. I concur. I can fish everything with my 6.3:1 reels.
  3. My idea of a "treat" from St. Croix would be the new Legend Elite series. I was just about to get me one but I'll have to wait awhile now.
  4. LOL...one ain't much good without the other.
  5. Where can you get this reel for $100? They MSRP at $129.99 I think. I saw some on ebay for $116 but none anywhere for $99.99. The new Fuego spinning reel carries a price tag of $99.99 though. This will be a good reel if you don't want TWS.
  6. Winning weight was 36.30 this year. I think last year it was over 41 lbs if I remember correctly.
  7. N/S Center kicked out a 7.2 lb'er in the Frankies Pro Team event back in August. Lots of good fish in those Chisago area lakes and E/W Rush too.
  8. LOL...uhh, I recall stories of my grandpa cussing up a storm with his old Pflueger knucklebusters. I guess way back then it was considered a talent to artfully string together a big group of naughty words after a bad cast.
  9. Well, here's mine That shop owner maybe didn't have to refund you but he could have offered to help you get it to Daiwa. He doesn't want your return business apparently. I wouldn't set my feet in that building again...ever!
  10. Your record fish looks like a crappie.
  11. Do baby duck crankbaits only work in spring?
  12. 7 lb'ers come pretty rare here in MN. a 3lb bass is a 3lb bass anywhere in the country, we just don't grow them quite as big as they do down south.
  13. It could be old. They are cool guns, will allow you to get out there and are typically very dependable. With some practice you can learn to reload pretty quick. I still have a break action single .410 that I use for rabbits.
  14. That sounds typical of autumn small river environments everywhere....unless there is above average rainfall in the area. When they get low and slow I concentrate on the holes and usually do my best at the head end of them. I like to throw cranks or jigs. This is the only kind of fishing where I use live bait. Walleye then become a bonus catch on red tails or big Fatheads.
  15. Wow, that looked fun! I bet that was a great day for all involved!
  16. Good job on the gift! Happy Birthday!
  17. Ronald, I'd be interested in your opinion comparing the Cabela's ZX and the Berkley E-Motion when you get around to it.
  18. I concur. The Laser Sharp are pretty dang good. My problem is nobody around here carries them or I'd buy them more often.
  19. I was up north again last weekend. This weekend I'm staying off the water. Next week I'm going back up north Wednesday after work and will return home Saturday night. We have been getting drilled by cold fronts every 2 or 3 days. Fishing really clear water post front is always tough and it was last weekend too. I caught some dink LM and a few decent smallies last weekend on drop shot and that was it for me. No big bites. Lots of good fish are going to come from shallow cover now. There is a lot of bait moving real shallow with this cooler weather.
  20. I find that response most interesting! Curious....how do you tie it on?
  21. No reason in the world you can't use baitcasting gear to drop shot with. I have done it in the past, not a lot, but I have done it without any adverse effects. I'll be doing it next season more often too.
  22. LOL...funny story! I wonder....do you fish with him often?
