  1. Falcon Original $89.99 to 99.99 depending on where you get it, I also got a BPS Pro Qualifier that I got on sale last year for $89.99! With the Pro Qualifer though you really should get the wieght system that you can get to balance the rod out.
  2. Whatever the lb test for fluoro make sure to spray it with Real Magic or KVD conditioner to make it more manageable.
  3. A 7' MH graphite rod w/ a mod. action is the way to go to get started. I like the St. Croix Avid for this application.
  4. Sometimes depending on the brand fluoro is pretty stiff in higher lb test ratings. A quick shot of KVD line conditioner or Real Magic solves this problem. Other wise its just combating the price of line. I'm going to be using a cheap mono backing and then putting on 75 yards of fluoro which should be more than enough to make long casts and the like.
  5. For rods can't beat the Original Falcons or the St. Croix Premiers. As for reels Shimano Cruxis $99.99 and get a decent rebate until i think end of march?
  6. Xtools culling clips are awesome! you see alot of the Elite Series pros using these.
  7. I don't like any of the storm swimbaits except the wildeye shads. Great action and catch fish like crazy.
  8. I got a Lowrance ifinder Go that did a great job until I bought a Lowrance depth/gps combo for my boat. The ifinder Go only costs $79.99 and can save up to 1000 waypoints
  9. Awesome stuff!!!!!! Before I found P-line I used this stuff all the time. It has the same diam. of most fluorocarbons and is inexpensive. Casts very well and sensative. however i can't compare it to suffix cause i haven't tried it yet.
  10. Black Bass have u thought of adding a drop of super glue to the knot. Thats what ive done w/ vanish and vicious to keep the knots from breaking. Also P-line is a great fluoro w/ a great knot strenght. Im serious dude don't let a review disturb you. People have different experiences and u won't know until u try it. Buy one spool and if its not up to ur par than try another.
  11. I don't know y i asked this question its soo stupid after I thought about it.
  12. I have the spinnerbait box and it is awesome! Much better than the binders.
  13. Go with the MH or even better get a H. I've tried skipping w/ a 6 ft rod but it didn't work out so well. When I steped up to a 6'10" it was perfect. But I guess thats personal preference. Also are you getting a spinning or baitcasting rod? I currently use a 6'10" Falcon Cara baitcaster for this job.
  14. This year I decided to go back to fluoro instead of completely braid. I was thinking of using backing to fill up most of the spool and put on 75 yards of fluoro. I was wondering if I should change the backing every time I need to put new fluoro back on the reel after retying and brakeoffs ect.?
  15. Use it. But I would spray it w/ real magic or KVD line conditioner first. I do this to every spool I buy asap.
  16. The night before every tournament. After the tournament I leave the line on until the next tourny. For braid I go until there isn't enough for a good cast.
  17. I was a big fan of Vicious Flourocarbon because it was cheap and worked much better than Vanish. I now use P-Line fluoro because it is strong, easy to cast, and very sensative. I still use some Vicious but not as much as P-Line.
  18. I do this to this day. It is possible. I got started on it when I visited tackleunderground.com . Check out that website and ask around or visit the tacklemaking forum here. Just make sure that you use the same colored worm when melting them unless you want black. In that case just add a few drops of plastic coloring available from a few retailers and stir. then pour the plastic. Have a good vent around though especially with powerbaits as most plastics really smoke when they are remelted. NEVER BREATHE IN THE SMOKE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did that once by accident and ended up in the hostpital.
  19. All year except for bed fishing. Tubes and stickworms work better for this job.
  20. Good question. Nothing like trying to find a way to save money. However, I bought a spray can of Blakemore Real Magic last spring and it lasted all year for me. So it really does justify the $8 I payed for it. Also, line lubricants don't erase all memory in line it just gets rid of most of it and makes the line softer and more manageable.
  21. No it doesn't. Especially if u compare Vicious to Vanish. ;D But if you don't glue the knot it breaks easily. If you glue it its very strong.
  22. I like Vicious. However, in my experience you need to superglue the knots otherswise they break easily. Good line other wise.
  23. Power Pro. Best in castability and strength!
  24. P-Line fluorocarbon. If you can't afford that then Vicious fluorocarbon. Its not as good as P-Line but it gets the job done!
