  2. That is incredible service! You have to let us know if the green is as nice as the old brown.
  3. Ontario LMB 10.43 Mario Crysanthou Preston Lake 26/08/1976 SMB 9.84 Andy Anderson Birch Lake 26/09/1954 I can see both standing for awhile.
  4. Here you go. Comfortable, light and safe. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat21276-cat601114&id=0037216943661a&navCount=2&podId=0037216943661&parentId=cat601114&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=IK&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat601233&hasJS=true Plenty of other similar types out there. Cabelas private label version is about half the price.
  5. That's nuts. It's start to get like the hardcore Musky guys.
  6. I use the original Bazooka. As advertised it will hold 6 rods 7'6" or smaller. Got it because I have a really small car and needed to transport my rods on the roof. Never had a problem. It's tough, light. Only think is I find it easier to load backwards, butts in, tips near the door. Haven't used it yet for flying.
  7. Ouch!! 39000 JY. That's gonna be one expensive reel.
  8. I'm in. I missed last years but really want to participate this year. Bass doesn't open here until end of June, so I guess keep me in mind during the hot days of summer.
  9. I know a lot of people (me included) who prefer to fish the smaller ones. (XR6, XR8, Pointer 78s) on spinning gear. I just find them easier to cast and work on spinning gear. I really think it comes down to personal preference.
  10. Wynton Marsalis would be awesome, but it ain't gonna happen - just not a wide enough appeal. And they are gonna stick with tried and true oldies after the Justin Timberlake/Janet Jackson debacle. I think Hank III would put on a great show.
  11. The Willi Waller 2006?? http://www.tetesaclaques.tv/video.php?vid=30
  12. Food, beer and a case of bug dope? The food doesn't worry me. My concerns are: 1) What kind of beer; and 2) What brand of bug dope and how much. Canada does have a bug problem. At times during my last trip I thought I was going to be carried off there were so many bugs. At that time of year I would consider investing in a bug shirt. I look enviously at my brother when we're pike fishing in June. http://www.bugshirt.com/ I use whatever has the highest amount of DEET, usually Muskol. As for beer, its the national drink, you'll be fine.
  13. Food, beer and a case of bug dope?
  14. two tips I was given that really work. 1) Practice in open water until you can skip consistently, then add a target (a dock, tree etc.) 2) Get the bait moving before you start your cast. start with six to 12 inches of line out. Cast with both hands for accuracy. Begin a side arm cast and point the rod tip slightly downward, quickly turn your wrist to get the the bait rotating around the rod tip away from your target. Immediately after starting the motion, pull back on the rod and make a side arm cast. As the bait completes half a rotation, snap the rod tip forward. In an ideal cast, the rod tip should unload as the tube completes three-quarters of the rotation.
  15. x 1 million. Put a totally new perspective on Christmas.
  16. A SMB over 5 lbs A LMB over 5 lbs Master a new technique or lure type. Get better a reading water/putting a pattern together.
  17. That's coffee on the keyboard funny and stomach turning in equal measure.
  18. Jewellery or whatever the man equivalent term is. I don't wear it, so why do you think I want to get a chain or bracelet thingy for Christmas? Thankfully this stopped after I got married. Now its all about trying to get the bait monkey to pay my wife and the outlaws a visit before the holidays.
  19. x2 I've got to get one of those for my little girl.
  20. Does anyone fishing these in the Midwest, Northeast and Canada use a leader, and if so, what type? They look really sweet, and I want to try them but they look like Pike and Muskie snacks.
  21. I suspect it has to do with the initials HH JC. Whole thing is disgusting.
  22. vile, evil stuff. even chock full of rum and nutmeg its undrinkable.
  23. No matter what anyone tells you, there are absolutely no fish in Ontario. Near the Ontario/Manitoba/Minnesota border Rainy Lake just past the International Falls border crossing would fill your bill. Bit of a haul from Ohio, but you're young. Sorry don't know any lodges or guides though. Quetico is also nice, cheaper too, but you'll have to canoe camp and haul all your gear. On the other side of the province, and in my neck of the woods, I can recommend the K/O lodge in Deep River, Ontario. Definitely can go for smallies and eyes. Pike of any size you'd need to come in late May/early June.
  24. Something bears real consideration. Exactly where does one get fox urine and in such quantities that it can be used in a squirt gun?
