Just wanted to see what everyone uses during the spring to land a boat load of bass. 

Always jigs for me followed up by tubes.

Jigs, spinnerbaits, and lipless baits work pretty well in the spring for me.

Jig and Rage Craw, Spinnerbaits, Jerkbaits and this year I will be trying out a Switchblade Jig I made.

Definitely hard jerkbaits for either species to start off with. Focusing on smallies, I would include bladebaits (Silver Buddy types) and Senkos. For LM, jigs and Senkos should keep you on the bite.

It's been my experience that no bait is a sure fire can't miss bait in spring.

No sure fire, but will cover water when fish begin to move in and stage up with jerkbaits, traps and maybe spinner/chatterbait. Once i get dialed in jigs and tubes.

Primarily soft plastics. Zoom Finesse worms on a TX a good start, wacky too.

What type and size hook do you use?

Spring is a pretty general term.

 

Prespawn, spawn, or post spawn?

Cold water spring conditions for me entails:

-soft and hard body jerkbaits

-drop shot rigs

-flick shakes

-c-rigs

-jigs

Jerkbaits, lipless baits, casting a drop shot, jigs, jigs and more jigs.

Jerkbaits catch the vast majority of my spring time bass as long as the water stays fairly clear.

One other note: Ice out through spring, most of your success will depend on LOCATION. The bait you choose will be secondary.

Jigs are my preference, preferably swim jigs.

Lipless cranks. Also topwaters around shallow cover.

Too many baits to even start listing them. I typically have success during the pre-spawn with yellow perch patterns, but this is a regional thing. Not going to know until the day comes, and I will junk fish if I have to in order to find out what's working.

 

First bait I will throw when it warms up will be a 3" jointed shad rap in yellow perch, it's usually pretty good when the water reaches low 50's out here. That bite turns off as fast as it came though when the water hits mid 50's. If it's not catching fish I'll abandon it with the quickness.

 

And like Crestliner2008 said, location will be more crucial than anything. Find fish and they'll be hungry, so anything that looks halfway edible to them will be fair game.

Deep jerkbaits, stand up jigs worked really slow, shakey head, then c-rig. I hardly ever make it to using the c-rig because the jerkbaits and jigs work great for me.

Football jig/ yum craw bug or strike king river bug. (Expose the hook)

I search with flat side crank baits and jerk baits and if and when I find them I slow down with soft baits and jigs. But sometimes I miss.

Pre-spawn last year slowly dragging either a jig or a weighted Yamamoto Flappin Hog were the most productive approaches.  Once it warmed up a bit spinnerbaits were the best. 

 

I fish the same chain of lakes all the time, so finding them was not a problem.
