Today I caught my first 8" hudd fish... after over 100 hours fishing it over the years. I've caught fish on bigger baits but for some reason I could never get them on the traditional slow bottom crawl

Had my boss and his son over today . Primary goal was bream. The 2nd bream Alex hooked , as he had it almost to the dock , a bass clobbered the bream and he hooked the bass right in the corner of the

  • So I went fishing today, and caught a 9#. Scale bounced between 8-15 and 9-2, but let's call it a 9, shall we? NLMB trout eater.   Super slow rolling a 8" weedless on the bottom in about 15

I need at least 6 years before I can fish in the spring.   :(

Hopefully I can retire then!!!

Starting to get busy again, so here's a long-armed 2lber that perhaps did not need to have its picture taken, but may be the last thing I catch for a few weeks...

We’ve all been duped here.

@Swamp Girl said she was out for a month.

@Joedodge said he was taking August off.

@IcatchDinks is posting rock bass.

The first two are feeding us a bowl of pike slime and the third is just, well, you know…rock bass.

Ok ok. The jig is up haha. I really have been laying alot lower than I was and the elbows loving it. lol

Took the kayak for a little midday float and had fun. Man, any day of the week anymore is just always commotion. I did make the best of it and fooled some pretty decent fish. Sometimes I laugh at the way I think and how it affects my fishing.

I took a couple MH’s today; 7 and 7-3. I mostly got them on the 7’ with straight 14lb trilene xt. The sun was high and bright, but they would eat in the right spot with the right cast. Standard senkos to start when it was bright, and the big senko once shadows started hitting the water. I didn’t start until after 10am,

which I know isn’t ideal but typical for me lol

Gonna give senkos a break for a bit and try some other stuff again. I get kind of “alright, that’s enough” with senkos, because they can get too easy for me. Only took a few pics because it was hot and I don’t like fumbling with my phone a lot. I did get a real nice fish a little over 19” on a 7” speed senko. I like leaving the tail paddle style

@gim What can I say? the fishing is really slow. All I'm catching are rock bass and dinks. I'm sorry I'm such a sorry angler. 😂

I did catch this tonight. (The fish. Not the toddler.)

@IcatchDinks: You can only fish the water that's available to you and you're fishing water with tubers. So, you're more likely to have a toddler tugging at you than a bass. I look forward to you fishing with Professor Pat again. @Pat Brown, you are assigned with putting ICD on a five, six, or seven-pounder. Hook ICD up and the Bass Resource Faculty Committee will award you tenure.

You fished mid-day, the water was crowded, you caught too many bass to bother photographing, and Senkos are too easy for you. Please invite ICD to fish your lake with Senkos!

I know, it might come across a little whiney lol. I’m just raw and simply write what I was thinking/feeling in the moment. I didn’t catch a bunch of bass at all, not even double digits. I was just mentioning those were the ones I did take pics of. I have a few scenery shots, but get a little leary of Looky Lou’s

I'm not really sorry I'm not hauling in monsters. I'm having fun this summer, and being able to take my son fishing is a dream come true. But I am sorry that all I'm able to show Gim is his most hated species. Lol.

If there were a Bass Angler of the Year Contest, ^this^ alone would earn you my vote.

First Jon boat trip of the season with my brother. Only landed one bass as I was reluctant to jack a hookset from a seated position following back surgery a few months ago, so I watched several shake off. It definitely feels different than setting while standing up.

On the flipside, Pickeral-palooza. They hooked themselves. I stopped counting at 15. All bites came on a Big Bite Baits 5" Jerk Minnow in watermelon red flake rigged on an Owner Twistlock Light 6/0. Somehow none of them bit through my Seaguar 10lb Blue Label leader, and I only needed to retie once.

First cast curse is real. Had this guy pop up and shake on the first cast. Then I assume it was the same fish because it had a very fresh looking pierce in its schnoz. At least I could have kept him if I had wanted to as he taped in at just over 16".

100% better than what I experienced for all of June though.

Got a new phone and a new house on a 15 acre pond and I’ve been figuring it out slowly and also figuring out the free rig.  Been a lot of work but been fun fishing in my backyard between moving tasks!

@Pat Brown: CONGRATS, PAT! A new home on a 15-acre pond!!! Living the dream, my friend. Plus, it has HUGE bass! @IcatchDinks, head south pronto!

Pat, do you own the entire pond or are there other houses on it? It looks pretty wild in your photos.

Hit the reservoir yesterday, 12-14' visibility.

Well made the mistake of fishing one area too long with a couple of small bass.

Finally moved to another area and was able to get 2 decent ones, then the wind picked up with some white caps.

Couldn't keep on em being in a paddle kayak with the wind, of course lost the biggest fish at the end of the day on the jump. Thought she came off while fighting it but it was just shooting up off the bottom, dipped the rod in the water hoping it wouldn't jump but she had other plans.

9 fish landed, 6 largemouths, 1 smallmouth, 1 sunfish and of course 1 rock bass, all on a drop shot.

This has really settled into a siege. The church pond siege… Some of you may recall the ongoing battle I’ve had with a fish I’ve lost several times in the last couple years. I’m thinking it’s at DD fish.

I have not missed many Saturday daybreaks at the pond this year.

Last week, it was slow. I had cast and my son called. I set the rod down and noticed line peeling off . I set the hook sitting down ( which I rarely do), and a large fish came completely out of the water and threw the hook. She was big, but I don’t think it was “ the fish “.

Today was slow again, but I at least got this one…

I don’t plan on giving up until I win or pass on …!

Is that the water behind your house or are you holding out on me with a secret spot? I can go help catch your fish! Ha!

B. 😉

It’s one of the ponds at my church.

I haven’t been out on my lake since Memorial day. I got 20 that day- a good way to end the spring.
