What Would You Like To See Invented For Fishing

Featured Replies

Aside from snagless hooks, unbreakable rods that are sensitive  air knotless braid, what would you like to see developed/invented.

How about a jerk bait with a spring mechanism inside that would set in place and vibrate or shake for 2 or 3 seconds. It would recharge each time it was jerked.

Maybe live fishing advice from a pro.

Your on a lake having a tough time so you  ring up a pro, give him the location, conditions, pan a live shot of the area with your camera and he gives advice on the next move to try. Sound far fetched?

I doubt I would use the service.

How about rod companies start putting rod tips on that don`t have the external brace that braid ties knots around.I know they are now available  so why not use them.

A tackle box that would refuse to close  if you put to much weight in it.

We all know of Hot Hands . Put them into true glove form, fingers and all,not just a pouch.

Spool charts to tell how much mono fill to put under braid

A knotless fusion device to join braid  & mono/floro

Lets hearum

braid that is invisible like fluorocarbon so i could have the best of both worlds

would be awesome but braid would still get eaten up by rocks :/

I am actually working on something for my senior mechanical engineering design project that is fishing related, but I can't spill it. If for some reason it works well it would be patent-able.

Not unless it was a hybrid between the two.

It has the invisibility and abrasion resistance of fluoro and the memory, strength, sensitivity, and low diameter of braid.

The challenge would be to keep it under $50 a spool

A Bait monkey vaccine. A credit card that would "refuse" any purchases from a fishing tackle company. A line that would really live up to all the hype and really preform like it is promoted. A few lure  manufactures  that sell lures under $10.00 that you don't have to replace the hooks on because they are too d**n cheap to use good ones. A guide that doesn't think that you paid him $350 (plus tip) for him to fish. A lure company that doesn't discontinue your favorite color or lure.  A hook that doesn't get dull. A GYBC senko that lasts more than 1-2 fish. Winter in the north country where we have to wait  6 months between outings. A cabin on a good southern lake like Guntersville for less than $1200 a week. Do you want more?  Did I mention the bait monkey? God, I love bass fishing.

A drone..

A lure retriever with a 100% success rate.

Clam shell package on Hudds.

A blade bait for shallow water (If spro could put a treble on the tail of their 2.5" shad that would do the job).

How about a lipless? A good one is the Sebile FlattShad in the 1/4oz size.

I've used the smallest size Cordell Gay Blade and it works great, but, is a pretty small bait. Fine for smallies though.

I have experimented with different blades and lipless, so far a 1/8oz blade and the 2.5" bbz shad get bit the most. Someone needs to produce a blade with a big profile but small weight.

super accurate and detailed lake maps... Rods that are stronger, more sensitive and lighter weight that do not conduct electricity...

A line that can stand up to zebra mussels.

How about 'monel'?

I'm content right now.

If I find the fish I'm going to catch them most of time, don't see it any more complicated that that.

Nohow catches fish, not magic lures.

I need a way to stay cool. Those handkerchiefs that are soaked in water are suffocating in high humidity.

A line with the density of fluoro and the handling characteristics of braid would be very useful.

A self cleaning reel. Kind of like an oven.  When you use it all the gunk that builds up in is forced out.

A Soft Plastic material that has the durability of Pork yet retains the action of todays baits.

For Stick baits, Craws & swim baits in particular.

I'd love to have   crankbaits that remained perfectly balanced , straight up and down but tailed left or right.

A website that knows what I meant to order, and warns me when I select the wrong thing... "Ooops, you know those Large Replacement Pages won't fit your Jumbo Worm Binder, right?"  :laugh5:

something to measure and implement industry standards on power and action of rods

I want a drone sub swimbait video game app.

Cast it out, whip out the smartphone while it dives and then drive that sucker around like a mini sub bass-seeking video game. When you see a bass, hit the A for a twitch, B for a wiggle, turbo button for an erratic "escape attempt" etc...

It would ruin fishing but it would be a blast.

This wins because it's the most legit complaint across the industry today IMO.

Reel warmers. up here in New England your reels get cold when the weather is cold and you loose ALL feeling in your hands. it would be nice to be able to fish comfortably in the winter. ALSO my friend and I both have Revos  anti-reverse bums out when they get cold so a warmer may also benefit the reel as well as your hands

Ill roll along these lines and say guide warmers/heated guides too, keep that ice from building up.
