What is the best type of Rod to use in order to fully utilize Zara Spooks? (Power and Action)

Jr., regular or super? Super spooks, I throw them on my champ 734. Heavy action Rod because those baita are BIG and the 734 has an action which can compensate for the treble hookks.

Regular and Jr., I've thrown on a number of rods but I prefer a 6'8 to 7ft mh moderate to moderate fast Rod. I tend towards 30lb braid and add a mono leader if necessary.

I throw the spook Jr's on a IMX TWR 802 ..I definitely what a rod under under 7ft medium or medium heavy fast..

I throw both Spooks and Zara Puppy's. I am looking to utilize a proper type of rod to get the best out of the lure.

I kno it isn't usual but I like to use a faster tipped 6'6 spinning reel with 10 lb braid. Sometimes a mono leader.

M or MH/F depending on the size of the Spook.

While action is debatable, I definitely prefer a 6'6" rod, that shorter rod really facilitates the walking action of the original Zara Spooks...

I use a medium light power with a moderate tip

I'm with the 6'6" for spooks! I tried 6'8", 6'9", 6'10" and 7' and I could never get the rhythm down. I also used a 6' and a 6'2" that worked really well with spooks and poppers but 6'6" gives me more casting distance with the same amount of control I get from the shorter rods. My current spook rod is my 2nd cheapest set up, it is  a Team Daiwa Advantage on a 1st generation Abu Garcia Vendetta 6'6" M-F, it is a medium that is forgiving enough to fish larger treble hooks with but even though it is rated 1/4oz to 5/8oz I have no trouble throwing a 3/4oz spook on it. I got that rod to try and use it for an all purpose set up in the jon boat as I'm limited to 3 rods max so they have to be versatile. I'll also be honest and say that particular model makes for one awesome topwater rod, it is unique in that it has the backbone of medium heavy but it has the forgiveness of a medium, a big complaint of the Abu Garcia rods is that they are under rated meaning a medium is a medium heavy and while they are a little under rated it isn't quite a medium heavy, I'd say like a light medium heavy if that makes sense. I will tell you that I only use it for large topwaters that use size 4 hooks or larger, the smallest walker I use is a Super Spook Jr. and the smallest popper I use is a Storm Rattlin' Chug Bug because the rod is forgiving enough for those trebles but a little too stiff for smaller size 6 trebles.

7' medium action rod.  Same you'd use for a crank bait. 

This is the topwater rod that I have been eyeing. This 6' beauty is the Gan Craft Killers Slaughter.

7'medium power fast action avid casting rod.

5'6" pistol grips m and mh action fast tips.short range and mid range i can walk a spook around a stump. IMO a long rod with a long handle Impairs the action of a spook.

I use two different rods for a spook jr and the puppy. Ml or light spinning rods for the puppy. Medium or medium heavy for the jrs and above. Though I have been known to throw the jr on a ml spinning rod though not ideal for me.

7'3" medium-heavy fast taper.  Braid to mono leader. 

6'6" MH never tried anything else

I use a 6'6" MH Baitcaster.  Mono - 15lb.  7:1x speed reel.

 

Use them for the Sexy Dawg, Jr, Zara spook and spook Jr.

 

Anything smaller and I go to Medium rod.

I've got a 6' medium fast casting rod for my spooks and poppers

I have a St Croix mojo bass topwater rod and it's only rated for 5/8 and I was wondering if it's that big a deal to go to 3/4 with a big spook. Will the rod break if I try to throw the bigger topwaters? I hope not cuz I've got a bunch of them.

Temple fork outfitters signature series 7MHF is what I use. Its rated as fast, but it feels more like a modfast.

You'll probably be okay. Don't whip it out there. Be careful with it.

I use a MH 7' crankbait type rod, specifically a BPS Crankin' Stick. Love throwing them.
