I know many of you here pray, and send positive

thoughts in times of emergency....

 

My Mom suffered a stroke, pretty severe, this morning

and the prognosis, though early, is not good.

 

I'm the youngest of 5 kids, I'm 45, almost 46. My Mom

was doing great the other day, and I hugged her, rubbed

her shoulders, told her how much I loved her.

 

Today, she is intubated, has severe damage to parts of

her brain that controls language, speech, understanding.

 

Emotions have been up and down and down again.

 

I'm just sharing this to ask for prayers for my Mom, my Dad,

who's "okay" but he's not processed it fully just yet, I think.

They've been married for 63 years, I believe. This is a shock 

to him.

 

She's a wonderful woman, has put up with me her whole life,

LOL.

I rarely quote these kinds of posts, but yours moved me to do so.  You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers, and I sincerely hope that you will able to give her many more hugs in the future.  Probably no reason for me to mention that this would be a good time to give Dad some of the same as I am sure you already have.

Sorry to here this. Having gone through a similar situation a few years ago with my grandfather, I know the way this road goes very well, and I hope it turns out for the best for you and your family.

Thanks for that. We are all keeping close tabs

on Dad. My eldest sis was with him last night, 

he didn't sleep much...

 

And thanks to everyone for your thoughts and 

prayers. I know so many have gone through this

with a family member and can empathize with

me. Will know more today as they are looking 

for my Mom to be able to respond with a thumbs

up following reduction of her sedatives, and before

removing her breathing tube.
