Looking For Other Jerkbaits

Featured Replies

Lc pointers/flash pointers are my go to, have x raps, but not my favoite anymore, im not paying for megabass so what are you guys throwing in the spring?

Some others to check out are the Spro McStick, the Jackall Squad Minnow and some of the Duo jerkbaits.

try the luck e strike rick clunn stx's.. the hooks are a little weak but some owner st36's work well. They're megabass clones at a quarter of the price and actually fish alright. My 110s suspend great out of the box but the I've always had to tune the smaller variant, 90s?

Nothing beats a pointer though..

Academy H2O jerkbaits fish well and have a nice finish.

I've been fishing custom painted 110 blanks with great success for half the price of a Megabass.

Yo-Zuri 3DS is my goto jerkbait.

Yo-Zuri 3DB jerkbait is very good, for less erratic acton you can go to the Yo-Zuri 3DS minnow. The Elite 8 Rattlin' Rogues have been fantastic and my best value award goes to the Storm Twitch Stick!!! The Storm Twitch Stick is an incredible $5 bucks at TW but it has good hooks that are pretty stout and it has a triggering property that I only ever saw on a Luck Craft Pointer, when you stop it dead after a few rips, it has a little wobble or vibration, awesome bait and even if it was 48 or $9 bucks I'd still get some. The size 10 suspends pretty good between 54 and 48 degrees, the size 8 needs a single suspend dot. If you shop at Cabelas they have an exclusive Rogue called the G-Finish Rogue, those are getting used a lot when I have sunny conditions, the black glass and Tennessee Shad have been my favorites with an honorable mention on Tablerock Shad when it is overcast and the water has a slight stain.

My second choice after the Mega bass has always been the McStick. After that, Pointers and Rogues.

Duo Realis.

I just picked up a couple of the new lc lightning pointers. Seem to be pretty decent for $8.99. You can tell they arr a slightly cheaper version of the flash pointer, but they still have good finishes and action.

My favorites are Megabass, but you don't want those...After that it's XRaps and Pointers, which you already have :).  Besides those, the only ones left in my box that see much use are the old standby Smithwick Rogues and more recently Duo Realis.

Every bass fisherman should have at least one Rogue in their box and I've been impressed with the Duo baits I have, so I'd vote for those two.  When you want to come to the darkside, the Vision 110's are waiting to catch fish for you ;).

I recently picked up some Shadow Raps and SK jerkbaits.  Caught fish on the SK but haven't done anything on the Shadow Raps yet.

I'm with pretty much everyone else on here, if you can spend $20 on one jerkbait, get a 110 - pick your color and just get one (shiner/shad something like that).  I have tried them all and honestly, there is something special about those darn 110's.  I wish it wasn't true but it is...

Anybody here use the Evergreen jerkbaits? I just picked one up but havent got to use it much.

Another fan of the previous mentioned Storm Twitch Stick, very very good "bang for the buck". I also like the SK KVD's.

Yep. Just stay away from the smaller STX (3.75"). You cannot cast it.

Agree that nothing beats an LC Pointer. Flash Minnows will catch em good too when you are fishing shallow flats.

Wierd to think someone would put money into Lucky Crafts but draw the line at megabass due to the price.

Rapala HJ 10 on 6 lb fluorocarbon, another rod with 8lb. I think there's a good bang for the buck with them, as they come with what I think are good hooks already.

LC 78-100's is pretty much what I throw.  Some Rick Clunns.

I'm a mega *** but the rick clunn knockoffs have caught plenty of fish for me. As mentioned above the hooks are week but I do not change hooks for fun fishing. I have some of everything mentioned above and catch fish on them all but the 110 just out catches the rest. I plan on trying the duckett jerkbaits that are very similar in appearance to a 110

I occasionally throw X-Raps and Daiwa DB's. The Pointers are the real deal though. The first "expensive" bait that convinced me that some "pricier" baits are worth the investment. Now you wont catch me with out my Gunfish either.
