In clear water do most of y'all still flip with braid or do you use fluorocarbon instead?

I just tie on a 20# fluoro leader.

It's up to you. If you think they can see the braid, then try fluoro instead or tie on a fluoro leader. I know I've caught fish using 50# braid in water with 7-10 foot visibility. 

Depends on the conditions.

I like fluorocarbon line in clear to stained water.

Braid in dirty water.

Will tie on a fluorocarbon leader to the braid if the water is not too dirty but heavy stained.

Also depends if you are using a spinning rig or a baitcaster.

I use spinning gear. If you use a baitcaster you will want to stay with the fluorocarbon line.

And it depends on the type of structure and bottom I am fishing which has a direct impact on damaging the line.

I would pick that one too, 17 is a lil bit wiry, but we got mesquite trees, huizache and cat nail brush down here, thorny n´tuff so I need something with a little bit more muscle.

 

P-line CXX 15 lb is also a good pick, you can uproot the tree/brush and still get the fish along with it.

I've been using Seaguar's new fluoro designed just for flipping and have been really impressed so far. Despite it being 25lb test, it handles surprisingly easy and I've been able to horse some nice fish out of some nasty places with it and it barely leaves a mark on the line.

I've been using the 50# Flippin' braid from Seaguar, and I'm quite impressed!  It's ultra-smooth and strong.  I haven't had it on long enough yet to see if the color fades like other braids, but so far it seems to be holding up well.  Great stuff!
