Jesus dude...really? The way a fish uses its gills is the same way we use lungs. The difference of course is we are taking the oxygen out of the air we breathe they are taking oxygen out if the water they breathe. All I was saying is you wouldn't put alcohol in your lungs but you'd put CO2 and acid into a fishes gills. Doesn't make any sense.

At any rate if you wanna dump red bull in a fishes mouth...whatever. Just because something "works" doesn't mean you should do it.

Use Please Release Me formula on bleeding fish.  It's specifically formulated for use on injured fish. Not only does it stop the bleeding, but it also contains anti-bacterials and other helpful ingredients to help give the fish a fighting a chance and keep them alive.   

 

It costs about the same as a few energy drinks and does a substantially better job of keeping them alive for your weigh-in.

 

Just put a capful or two in your livewell and you're done. Easier to use and no need to pour out your energy drink anymore.

If you know you’re putting fish in a livewell, you need to be prepared. Treatment should be part of your equipment, just like a good pair of needle nose pliers. Bleeding fish or not.

And if you aren't in a tournament or you intend to keep the fish, there is no good reason to place one in the livewell to begin with anyways.  Stacking fish inside a livewell for hours so you can take a glory photo later on to post online to your buddies is openly stating that you value your own glorification more than then health of a fish.

I'll definitely get some to try,I keep rejuvenate on hand and ice in the hot months. I'm a very experienced tournament angler,if I'd ever lost a bass after using this method, I wouldn't have vouched for it, but it works. If someone wants to play hero and site a study about pike and this method, well, that's fine too. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, mine however isn't based on a study, it's based on experience. I've heard disagreeing with the legacy members of this site will get you banned... I'm disagreeing, I guess we'll see if the rumors are true ?
