Anyone else hear the question in today's postgame interview about the Blue Jays players touching Ryan Mountcastle?  I noted one time where Vlad grabbed Ryans back pocket and held onto it for a time and wondered what the heck?

He explained that whenever he'd get to a base, the player there would touch his jersey or whatever to try to get some of his mojo to rub off on them. Baseball players are as superstitious as fisherman?

Without a doubt as superstitious.  You should see/read about some of their pregame routines lol.  Heck one of the Red Sox pitchers, Nick Pivetta, was terrible starting this year.  They sent him to the pen where he could pitch 6 innings like Cy Young.  Last week they needed him to start again but instead of running out with the team to start the game he ran in from the bullpen and proceeded to throw another gem haha.  Also, Vlad is the very first person I'd imagine doing that to Mountcastle.  Guy is hilarious.

Doesn't take much to beat teams that don't have pitching.....not a coincidence they lost the only game where they saw a true A+ pitcher 8-0.   Elder and Morton suck.     

 

Good for Dansby though, had a nice HR and a couple good D plays.

They're playing great considering their roster, and they should be in the playoffs. 

 

They'll certainly have a better record than the Braves over the next month.   I don't expect the Braves to go better than .500 over that time, and I doubt this team makes it past the NLDS/first round of playoffs much like last year.  

 

Pitching wins games that matter in baseball, and the Braves have two starters, and one nice bullpen piece, it's a joke at this point.   

 

Braves had an opportunity for another chip this year but weren't willing to pay or trade at the deadline.   Hopefully the C-Suite and shareholders see an uptick in profits. 

 

Shame to watch the greatest offense in my lifetime be wasted, but again hitting only matters in the regular season.

Orioles sweep Mets. Now face last year’s WS champion Astros at home at the Yard. Orioles have 3.0 game lead in AL East over the Rays; Astros 3.0 games behind the Rangers in the AL West. Big series for both ballclubs. 

Braves suck, and the front office is joke for thinking they could outscore opponents instead of fully committing to another ring and getting pitching.  

 

This is the worst pitching staff I can remember the Braves having in a decade.  

 

They'll be a .500 team for the rest of the season and get embarrassed in the first round.   You simply can't be competitive with the Braves pitching staff, and as a fan it's getting to the point where you can't watch it because you know exactly how it ends.
