I didn't see alot of the deep diving cranks except for the berkley flat side Fritts cranks and some Store brand....Maybe some Strike Kind 6xd...I went back yesterday to get more and it was basically empty. I grabbed a few more of those Spro Demon Cranks, store brand cranks and some Trilene....I cleaned up on a bunch of the other stuff the first time. That was my first time seeing 75% at academy, never knew they put clearance in the back of the store.....Was amazed how they put out what seems like everything. Found a nice Lews Mach casting rod and Shimano GLF medium light casting rod which was worth it. 50% still a great deal....

They do it every year starting late Jan and increase the percentage every couple weeks. Mine had lots of stuff at 50% but wanted a few more. Was in there on a Thursday and still tons of stuff, didnt know that Saturday the had increased and got the email Saturday night. One day it when from full to empty. Honestly i think you have flippers and ebay sellers at that point and they just buy everything and resell it. Walmart did similar thing in January but they skip the steps they just went from normal price to bottom price. I bought lots of stuff, will wait for it next year vs black friday lots better deals.

Just wanted to drop in and say hi to you all. I'm not as active 'round these parts anymore. Haven't bought anything in about 5 month. Haven't had the boat out in almost 5 months. Really sucks, but it'

You are correct. The girl at the counter told me one guy came in and purchased almost all of it. I went on Ebay and googled "Quake 70 6th sense" and boom...3 lots for $27 etc.....Then looked on Facebook market place and rods were $50.....They should put a limit on it. Everyone should have a shot to get some stuff at that price.

I'd say you're right.  A clerk there told me that he saw people with arm loads of rods checking out.  Last year at a local flea market a guy had a bunch of brand new rods and tons of other new stuff on his table.  I'd assumed he'd cleaned up at the sale.

Reaction Tackle is selling 8lb mono (3000 yards) for $12, or 10lb mono (1600 yards), for $12 as well.  Different colors too.

I use their braid and it's allright, guessing their mono is okay as well.

Don't work for them, but I stumbled across it, and well hell, I don't use mono anymore but I bought some just to have.

Out of curiosity, what's the best place you get quality lures online for a good deal?  If you guys get JDM lures, where do you get those?

For JDM specifically, Digitaka has a big sale going on right now, and competitive prices at other times. Tackle Bros and The Hook Up Tackle also have very good selections of JDM baits with frequent bundles and giveaways, as well as exclusive colors and patterns.

I will add Copperstate Tackle. I visited them and The Hook Up Tackle while in Phoenix last week. My credit cards are still smoking LOL.

Kistler chromium reels are $59.99.

Free shipping all orders at bigbitebaits.com

10% off coupon code: bbb10

Some good deals are:

$.75 3” grubs

$6.49 5” Cane Thumper in ss Shad 25-pack

$1.50 baby b2 worm (7” ribbon tail worm) 20-pack

$1.65 swimming mama

$1.50 disc worm

$1.50 Smallie smasher

..and lots more

TW going after BPS, from today till the 26th (what a coincidence) they are having a rod and reel trade in program (although BPS has better values its close, and TW has much more inventory for rods and reels). You can ship it to them or drop it off, although im guessing we pay for shipping. So factor that in to the trade values.

Looks like percentage wise TW is better value

Looks like percentage wise TW is better value

BPS 40-79.99 = $10.

TW 50-100 = $10.

BPS 80-119.99 = $20

TW 100-150 = $20.

BPS 120-174.99 = $30

TW 150-199.99 = $30

BPS 175-219.99 = $40

TW no option

BPS 220-499.99 = $50

TW 200-299.99 = $50 (until this point TW has been behind in each tier, making you spend more)

After this TW takes the win.

But if TW isnt covering shipping your items to them (which is realistic they wont) that would eat into most if not all of the trade value.... But still a good option for those who want a rod or reel BPS doesnt carry. Lets be honest, i have more rods and reels in a corner collecting dust than whats on the floor at most BPS/Cabelas these days....

Well that's exactly what I was getting at, all the worth while reels are $200 or higher, and that's where TW makes the difference.

BPS 40-79.99 = $10. 25%-12.5%
    TW 50-100 = $10. 20%-10%
    BPS 80-119.99 = $20 25%-16%
    TW 100-150 = $20. 20%-13%
    BPS 120-174.99 = $30 25%-17%
    TW 150-199.99 = $30 20%-15%
    BPS 175-219.99 = $40 23%-18%

    BPS 220-499.99 = $50 22%-10%

    TW 200-299.99 = $50 25%-16%
TW 300-399.99 = $70 23%-18%
TW 400-500 = $90 23%-18%
TW 500-600 = $100 20%-17%
TW 600-700 = $120 20%-17%
TW 700+ = $150 22%

But you right though, the shipping fee eats into it.

I see it now, you're correct, TW for nicer reels/rods. BPS for mid range rods (although they carry much less options) and those mid range reels.

For anything under $200 it doesnt seem worth it, but back to what you said about using them for higher end reels. Over $200 you would be getting back atleast $50, most places can ship a reel for $10. Its not much of a loss at that level. And you never know, TW might surprise us and send a prepaid shipping label with the orders that are done online. But thats my wishful thinking and unlikely.

Basspro has Bubba Pro Series Smart Fish Scale/Cull Kit for $130! (Club Members)

Not a tackle sale, but I know a lot of us utilize kayaks. Dick's has the YakAttack Leverage Net on clearance. Was $90, now $63. Show the website price on your phone if your store does not have them marked down and they will honor it.

I picked up a castaway 7'3" flippin stick, a daiwa spinning rod/reel combo, and a Shimano Bantam 5:1 bait caster for $30 today.

You can't hardly beat pawn shops if you're patient.  :)
