What do you want for Xmas?

Featured Replies

So I work at F&S, and a lot of wives have come in with no idea what to get their husbands. So BassResource, what do you want for Xmas?

Would 500 Gallons be asking too much ?

My two front teeth!

Seriously idk how much help I'll be but the only things I asked for from the wife are a reel and rod combo and some new boots, the rest will just have to be a surprise

Will have soft water for sure, so will be fishing on December 25th, so all I want for Christmas is to hook up with a nice bass...

Couple pounds of hundred dollar bills ;)

Have em get gift cards..  this might sound lame and maybe not a big surprise.. but they'll be able to get things they want.

The most difficult thing to have for me nowadays -----> time to go fishin.

My Xmas gift is going to be catching a double digit bass at next month's local club tournament. That'll keep a smile on my face a lot longer than any gift I'm remotely likely to get. Of course, objectively, a DD is also very unlikely.  But it's optimism that keeps me on the water tossing plastic thing-a-ma-jigs all day.

man, a new set of waders would do!

If answering the wives, gift cards! I love my wife, but don't want her picking out what I fish with. I'd just as likely end up with a bunch of Macks wedding rings than something I could actually use.

My daughter aske me what I wanted for Christmas. I told her I wanted a clean room and good report card.  She said I was out of luck.

Now that I finally have somewhere to put them, power tools!

A private lake filled with hawgs.

Power tools for me, too. Especially a table saw or a GOOD Dremel outfit. Recently moved from Virginia Beach to the mountains and there is a LOT of stuff that needs manufacturing/retrofitting around here.

Man, y'all good for laughs and that's about it haha. The people who come in have said fishermen are hard to buy gifts for, like I don't already know that myself.

It's like folks with other sports or interests - it's hard to buy for them if you don't know what they already have, what they might want, or what they use a lot of and could be resupplied with (in our case consumables like terminal tackle, plastic baits, line, etc.).

Some of the wives coming in to the store might have an idea of a rod or a reel that the husband has been lusting over so that would be good. Or, perhaps they might know what baits the husband uses (or could reconnoiter the man-cave to find out) and then go from there.

Without that kind of intel, however, perhaps the best gift (although not as personal) would be a gift card...

I used to suggest this all day long, when I worked at BPS.
