Tis the season! We had a pumpkin carving party at the neighbors house, complete with freshly made cider and doughnuts from our local orchard. Oh yeah and pumpkins from the patch. Fall is here and I'm liking it!

Yeah, my youngest quit caring about carving pumpkins last year.  Luckily, my girlfriend's 4 year old still likes to do it.  Been looking up stencils for carving tonight!

It is a lot of fun. We took him to get his costume earlier in the day then carved pumpkins in the evening. Christmas is fun too because he still believes, we know with him being in second grade already this could be his last year believing. 

 

As far as the Army chair goes I forgot to ask my neighbor about it. He was in the Marienes so where the Army chair came from I don't know. LOL

I've already let my son know chances are his pumpkin he carved Saturday isn't going to make it because of the heat. He has a back-up pumpkin so he was ok with it.

Old Timers Inc. got the metal roof on this morning despite a couple rain showers 

 

I found this along the bank of the lower Danube 30 some years ago. There are remains of a Roman fort about 50 yards away that was occupied until 400 AD. The locals say they find these all the time.

That's a nice set up you got there, and I like the name! My step dad's golf league name is the * Tour, just a bunch of retired guys going around the state playing different gold courses. 

Not sure about the pot of gold, but I’ve caught some dandy smallmouth and lake trout exactly where both ends meet the water over the years.

Drone flooding pics from the river near my house . Normally small enough to cast across (the narrow straight part in between the trees in the first picture), but has lots of creeks running into it so it floods extremely fast. They found a car with a woman who had been missing for a couple days inside it yesterday at a low water crossing. Turn around, don't drown isn't a joke.

Were flooded here as well but not to that extreme.

My walleye stomping grounds in Wisconsin have been flooded all year and I didn't get out once. I drove up a couple weeks ago only to see sandbags along the interstate and every farm along the Baraboo and Wisconsin River was flooded.

Is that the Marias Des Cygnes?   I was at La Cygne last Wednesday and it was still low. the creeks that feed it, must not drain much ground.

The rain was very spotty, pouring in some areas and missing others completely. I went to a little lake down south that fishes great when it's flooded. Apparently the rain missed it because it was still several feet low and almost got the boat stuck just launching.

 

Those pictures are of the Marias Des Cygnes in Osawatomie, just a few miles north of where I live.
