I'm a plumber here in the UK, people have often said that I should move to Australia as they're crying out for plumbers. That photo reminds me why. I expect the life expectancy of plumbers in Oz is about a fortnight. There are some pretty unpleasant creepy crawlies in the states, but in Oz everything wants to kill you, and most of them lurk in the dark crevices plumbers hands always spend most of their time!

Dude if that was my house and I found that in it....time to burn it to the ground. Then I'd call in an airstrike just to make sure it was dead. Then I'd sell the property to a company that would use it to dispose of chemical waste. Creepy!!!

@Tim Kelly I met a couple from Australia while in NYC and some of the stories they told me were amazing. Finding poisonous snakes in cabinets under the sink, being stuck by a box jellyfish, and being bitten by a funnel web spider. Australia sounds like a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to die there.

I'm a plumber as well (water treatment really but I'm a licensed plumber) and thankfully it's not that bad here in NM. We have rattlesnakes, and lots black widows but otherwise most things dont try to kill us. 

 

I went to open a water meter lid one time and there was a beehive in it. They wasnt impressed that I wanted in it lol

? It wasnt my house so something tells me the customer wouldn't have understood if he came home to a pile of smoldering rubble.....then again maybe they would have!

Well I called the cities water dept and they came and sprayed them. The next day when I came back all seemed well at 1st. I took off the lid and I pulled out dripping honeycomb (it looked so good) and multitudes of dead bees and turned off the water. After I finished the job I went to turn the water back on and their was hundreds of bees that hadn't died swarming around the hole and they not happy with the outcome of all their hard work (not that I blame them). I had to get the water back on so I put a heavy jacket on, leather gloves and a small towel around my face and v e r r r y  s l o w l y  crept up and stuck my meter wrench in the hole and turned the water on. Bees were flying all around and climbing up the wrench but I didn't get stung. 

 

The End. 

Out on the water a couple of hours before dawn this morning. Didn't do me any good though. Very slow bite today, last Sunday it was a bite a chuck for a while, complete opposite this weekend. Tried one last spot with some history on my way back to the ramp and must have landed my dropshot on his head. Dreadful picture, but a great memory. 4-06, my biggest of the season so far and as far as I can remember my biggest for a couple of years. An ounce bigger than my biggest bass in Spain a couple of weeks ago!

The sound gave me chills when I first heard it hiking in northern PA. We have a population of elk in the counties of Elk and Cameron. In the fall they have viewing stations where, in the early a.m., you can occasionally see a bull with a harem of cows.

We have a small population in the Alpena area, enough for lottery licenses but I've never made it up there to hear them. There are some in a pen about 10 miles west of me but that doesn't count.
