Low- to mid-50's here, but with relentless rain.   Flood warnings are in effect.  Typical Northwest weather this time of year.

The nearby mountains (cascades) have the highest snow pack in all North America due to the never-ending precipitation.  93" of snow in 10 days. The dark, gray, wet days are getting very, very old.

  • Snow is expected to overspread northern Michigan after midnight...and continue into Friday morning while transitioning to lake effect snow showers. Locally heavy snow squalls Friday afternoon/evening

  • Oh - but you'd be wrong ~   But we have 'an agreement' - I don't bother them in January and they leave me be in June. Seems to work out for both parties.  A-Jay

Wish we could work out a trade.

I feel your pain. Michigan has the second worst winters in the country. This isn't due to snow or cold but because of the lack of sunlight. There was a time last year we went almost 3 weeks without sunlight. That takes it's toll on a human.

I didn't realize you were human. Good to know. :drinking-62:

You're assuming again. I didn't say I was. You know what it does to assume.

My relatives in Washington told me there’s a clinical term for it... SAD or Seasonal Affective Disorder.

Yup. We just call it "cabin fever" or the "winter blahs"

Yikes, started snowing around 9 a.m. this morning and stopped around 3 p.m. Now its back, only snowing harder now than it did before. Probably got about 4 inches so far and it don't look like its gonna stop anytime soon. I think we might have to cancel spring this year and go straight into summer.

We got about 8" in the last 24 hrs. I'm ready for spring.

-9 right now and another 5" of snow this afternoon, just in time for afternoon rush hour. Snow in the forecast everyday this week.

10” of snow here on Super Bowl Sunday. We get a break today then another 8 to 12” on Wednesday. The weekend looks like a wintry mix of ice and snow for Saturday and Sunday.

That isn't chili if there's beans in it.

It's nothing more than a hot dog topping without beans

Well you Northerner's....thanks for all the smiles this morning.  Will be thanking the good Lord for my day today.  (yup...going fishing)  Temps in the high 30's to low 40's but the Nitrite gloves are keeping me comfy.

I remember living in the northwest....gloomy winters.....glooomy.  Seems the Oregon coast got more sun than the Willamette valley.  SO.. that's where I fished in winter for steelhead.

Wishing all you all some warmer times.

Oh god, you probably put hamburger in your chili.  Cretin.

Chili con carne = peppers with meat.  I see nothing about beans there.

You made hot sauce, not chili.  Fail. :P

Try RichZ's recipe: http://www.richz.com/chili/recipe.html

Won a chili comp at work following it.  Coffee substitution is critical.

Well then I make d**n good hot sauce! Or am I biased because I made it? Maybe it really does taste like crap and my wife and son only eat it because they don't want to hurt my feelings. Either way my hot sauce has kept us alive many weekends so I say it's a win for me! ?
