Anyone having success with this one ?

I'm curious if the "Frog Fur" is everything they say it is . . .

Sort of looks like velcro - which is actually a pretty good idea and kind of funny.

What's the purpose of the fur??

According to a review by Walker Smith on another well known fishing website:

"The Frogfur is designed to snag on the sandpaper-like teeth of a bass, which gives you just a little more time to execute a powerful hookset. When their teeth become tangled in this stuff, it makes it incredibly difficult for the bass to throw this bait or miss it on the initial strike."

Haven't heard of this frog. Are they available in stores or just online? If in stores, which ones?

Seems like while it might hang in a fish's teeth to give you more time to set the hook, it could also make setting the hook more difficult. Well set Velcro is hard to move.

I bought 2 from TW. I tested one a few weeks ago and it seems to walk good. The water was still too cold and I haven't got a chance to use them since.

iv read that it has internal rattles already is that true?

Let's hear what "Boom Boom" has to say ~

Didn't mention rattles.

I lost a lot of fish to hollow body frogs and caught a few.

When I started using my own homemade Teckel Sprinker frogs my hook-up ratio went up to almost like 98% and no more waiting to set the hook. You get a bite, set the hook! And I use the same hollow body frogs I always did. So far Booyah Pad Crashers have worked the best.

my thought would be that if your frog is deep enough in the fishes mouth for that to be effective you should be able to hook them regardless of fur or not.

How have these been working for y’all that have one?

I bought two, one regular and one of their new popping frogs but I’ve not been out fishing yet.

I bought a few and fished them late last summer. Quite possibly the easiest and best walking frog I've found. As for hook ups, my ratio does seem significantly better than other frogs. Because of all of that, I bought myself quite a few more over the winter. I can't wait until it's time to throw them again.

This reminds me of the old Culprit worms that had a strip of velcro on them. Does it work? Who knows? I'm sure you will catch fish on them, but it that because of the velcro patch? Seems gimmicky to me, but what do I know?

Heads up tournament anglers; pre fishing, Why use hooks when Velcro works?

Tom

Mebbe we should start a new thread debating which side of the Velcro has superior fish-snagging abilities.  ?

Well, for MLF you’re catching a lot of males so the female Velcro will work better. For FLW and BASS you’d catch the big mamas with male Velcro. ?

@HeyCoach: The wealth of knowledge on this site absolutely confounds (or confuses) me!!!

That is a fur hat to keep the frogs head warm in cold water.

I prefer the loops but I also like left Twix so what do I know?
