Hello, I am ordering some soft plastics of Tacklewharehosue and I was wondering what the best colors would be for zoom finesse worms and mag 2 worms. I fish primarily stained or dirty water. Since I already have the basic colors fro my stickbaits, junebug, green pumpkin, ect. I was thinking of expanding my color choices. I think redbug, and pb&j for the finesse worms and redbug again for the mag2 worms. Are those good colors to choose?

I have had good luck with the red bug color. I have not tried pb&j. Junebug is also a very good color for the conditions you are fishing. A lot of people like the plum color but I don't have any luck on that color.

In general, stained water = black/blue. Clear water = green pumpkin/watermelon red/etc.

I like anything with a chartreuse tail .

There's a pond with monster bass and carp and the water is really stained, maybe 5 inches visibility if any, and murky green. Would black and blue work in that situation too?

I would second Bubblegum and I always have a bag of white that I can customize with JJ's.

 

 

PB&J is always in my bag, too.  Along with Fire and Ice.  I like a Culprit Fat Maxx called Grape Shad, too

Don't make it harder than it has to be. Green pumpkin, black and blue, watermelon/red, junebug, and redbug. If I can't catch a fish on one of those colors, there's no fish to be caught. Sure you can catch them on lots of other colors, and some different hue might work better that one time under those one conditions (it's sapphire blue in green water for me), but you don't have to carry a bunch of different colors to catch fish if you don't want to. 

I have always done just fine with the basic green pumpkin, watermelon seed, and junebug colors everywhere I've fished.  I do have some BPS 10" worms in motor oil that have been good producers.

 

As far as black and blue goes, a recent study has shown that largemouth bass probably see blue as black, so to them  those baits are all-black.

In murky water I like black with red flakes.

Keep it simple.  Black Red flake, Black Blue Flake, June Bug, Green Pumpkin, Watermelon Red, and Watermelon.

I would be sure to have PB&J.  Very effective around mid-MI.

The three basics black blue, green pumpkin and watermelon red will get it done anywhere in the country.  Above that add a color or two for your area.  Junebug or plum works well in stained water, and I am a big fan of the California 420 color. More colors is not better just makes your boat heavy and the choice harder.  If you have the strength to pull it off 3+1 will be the cheapest easiest route.

Green whatever

The best advice has already been given above. Stick with the basic blue/blacks and green/watermelons. All the other crazy colors are used strictly for Googan Squad YouTube challenges ?

Fly fishermen have dark, light, natural and gaudy flies.  Probably a good way to look at it.

keep it simple. Junebug, black an blue, and green pumpkin. If I have plastic on deck, it's usually 1 of these 3 colors. 

I keep my soft plastics pretty simple.  In stained/muddy water I throw either Junebug or black/blue.  In clear water I throw watermelon red or green pumpkin. I've recently experimented with red shad on a nearby river, but haven't had any luck with it yet.

When I was a kid, everyone rgrew a "purple worm."  Usually Mann's or Creme.

I agree, but start with YOUR favorite color, it will probably work just fine.

 

I carry Black Blue Flake, GP,  Blue Craw (Green Pumpkin with Blue swirl). 

Stained water = any dark color ?
