I was able to fish for about 30 minutes today in between rain showers and caught two pinned to a fallen down oak in about 20 inches of water. 

 

Where did you find them today?

I didn't.   Spent a few hours in the kayak,  in steady rain, and only found a dink and a blue cat

Worked all night, slept all day, repeat until Thursday. 

Yesterday fished for a few hours in a steady rain. Caught a handful of Runts and a decent size chain pickerel 18"-20" long. I was my own worse enemy yesterday in trying to catch a respectable bass. Never gave myself the chance. Took myself right out of the game. I should have stayed with soft plastics but was all hepped up on throwing a few new deep diving XD cb's. Wish I would have thought it out better. Got hung up trying to fish a water column from 2 ft. to 15ft. They were not interested in chasing anything down. Pretty common for dinks and runts to do that though. 

Nowhere. Fixing staircase brickwork (pointing) all weekend. Then pruning the shrubs and mowing the lawn to get ready for winter.

Got one baby up against a dock, my girlfriend and I also both lost several gar that hit spook and jerkbait 

On a ledge in about 14 foot of water and on a brush pile against a dock in 6 foot of water yesterday. Nothing picture worthy and not a whole lot just fish. It was fun though 

Fish seemed to have pulled out off the bank after we got a strong cold front push through this weekend. Found them out in 6'-8' of water while "polishing the rocks."

 

Froggin' and Flippin'  

 

Only in my dreams. We are having so much rain and flooding it is not safe to put a boat on the water. If it doesn't quit raining soon the rivers and lakes will come to my house and I can fish off of my front porch.

Small dam backwater. Visibility to about 2-3 feet, tannic (brownish) stained. Wide shallow area on one side with pads, arrowheads, and some other emergent vegetation ending at the channel break which goes down to about 6-8 feet. The drop is moderately graded, with coontail and some other subsurface vegegation. Other side of the channel is a steep drop from the shoreline, some downed timber, but not as much vegetation.  

 

The emergent vegetation in the shallows is beginning to brown, die back, and thin out. A month ago I would have hit that with a frog and/or flipped a texas rig in there. That would probably still produce in some places, where it's thicker.

 

But yesterday, I caught most of my fish over that weeded channel drop with a whopper plopper and weightless worms, between the deep part of the channel and the shallow pads, where the vegetation was all still thick and green under the surface (bottom of the pic below):

 

Still can't find any big one. I caught like 4 small ones from everywhere, shallow weedy and deep 15-20' FOW. Three of them came from Ned rig and one from Fluke.

 

On Sunday's river fishing session they were shallow hitting Z-Man Chatterbaits ripped through Grass and surprisingly resting on the bottom while I took a phone call

 

They were also going crazy for a Z-man TRD Tubez hopped on the bottom.

About half way up a long sloping point right at sunset. 

Rage Bug on a swing head did all the heavy lifting.
